    Morning all from Papendrecht.
as the title says, you can only spend money you have earned, from tv, sponsorship, merchandise, ticket sales, hospitality et al.

NOW THEN, Abramovitch, and the wallahs at eastlands can get fifty million shirts made in whatever sweatshop, for next to no dosh, then buy them all themselves at fifty quid a pop, which will give them the spending power of two hundred and fifty million, how will this be fair play to the Darlingtons or pools . this is fifa bollocks, cant work. thoughts,

I believe it's UEFA's idea. Was wondering, could football clubs start or take over other businesses to increase turnover? So we'd end up with football clubs that have subsidiaries in finance, real estate, travel, etc?

This may be a bit off at a tangent, but I got to thinking yesterday about Niall Quinn and something he said along the lines of "if live football is allowed in pubs on a Saturday we will have to look at the situation (regarding attendances).

Well, IF it becomes legal an idea would be for the club to buy a few bars - thus making money for the pot.

Roker Report had a chat with a top football financial expert a couple of weeks ago to learn more about the rule, and how it will impact SAFC and others... http://rokerreport.com/2011/02/03/sa...ial-fair-play/

Nice one Roker Report, never let me down yet, know a lot more than I did when I published the article.
