Adrian Durham on TalkSport made a point earlier that just because we don't perform well at the major tournaments, it doesn't mean to say we don't produce our most consistent form in qualifying, projecting us as the 4th best team in the world.

He compared it to golf, where Luke Donald and Lee Westwood have recently been the world's number 1, but they have both failed to win a major championship as yet.

He's talking ****e if you ask me, but I'm just putting it out there.

Well, you do get the easier groups being top-seeded. Sweden has Holland in the qualifiers right now, and Spain in the previous EC quailifier if I remember correctly

We do get seeded. We were unbelievably lucky in the qualifying for South Africa, where we were not seeded (didn't get to Euro 2008) and drew Croatia as the seeded team - we could have had Spain, Germany, Holland...

Sweden always face a difficult task, but that's what the good old 2nd placed play-offs are for :)

Yeah, but I'm talking about the qualification to the European Championship 2008
Sweden had, Spain, Northern Ireland, Denmark, Latvia, Iceland and Liechtenstein.


HD till I die: Sweden are going for "Best runner up" :) Which gives the automatic place to the EC
