news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/13845203.stm Isn't warner's resignation handy for fifa? As he can now be 'presumed innocent', any bribery allegations can be wonderfully swept under the carpet.. I wonder if it was his decision or if he was lightly nudged into it by those ivory towers in switzerland?
Don't know and don't care. Warner is a crook plain and simple - ask any T&T supporter. Being 'on the outside' could now prove to be bigger trouble for FIFA.
Most people at FIFA are corrupt anyway. To be fair, I couldn't care less what FIFA does nowadays. I'll start paying attention to FIFA when people like Blatter resign and let people who understand football to start running it. FIFA is a complete and utter joke. Rant over.
corruption is right through FIFA Like mentioned above get rid of the current lot and put people in charge who actually know what football is about And Blatter the plonker is on top of the cup licking the cream YES TIME TO CHANGE
I think the only thing is that whatever Warner says, FIFA will just dismiss it, accusing him of lying.. however, I feel he might have been given a nice little pay off to hand in his resignation and to keep his mouth shut- heard he's quite partial to a bribe.. Time to change for FIFA but there's no way of implementing it. Internally, FIFA don't want to change and none of the football federations want to risk being alienated like the FA is- if they suck up to FIFA, they might get rewarded with competitions so long as they pay the correct price. Let's also not forget how FIFA encourages every child to take part in 'fair play'- maybe they should practise what they preach..
FIFA are basically the Mafia without the guns and the 'whacking'. They're all just as corrupt as each other, only stuff conveniently gets pinned on anyone opposing Blatter. Everything is done in house (the voting etc.), so they think they're untouchable. And unfortunately they sort of are unless the various national governing bodies decide to withdraw.
