The Liverpool board (amongst others) has a rep thread, where they all give each other positive rep every day and then dish out negative rep to anyone that says anything that they don't like. It was one of the main reasons why I was against the system returning, along with discouraging the voicing of unpopular opinions.
I don't really see the point of the rep system myself. It becomes fairly clear upon joining the forum who the respectable posters and I'm not going to stop listening to the likes of Boss, for example, just because he's had bad rep from people clearly abusing the system. Similarly I don't really weigh people's opinions higher if they have good rep. The whole system is just a bit pointless to me really.
ironically that's a good comment that deserves some rep power I don't get it either to be honest. I only noticed what it was in the last few weeks when I wondered that all the red dots meant!
