Wheres the sense of the authorities that let 5000 Russians march through he streets of Warsaw prior to the Poland v Russia game, and then display some sort of surprise that it kicked off? History between football clubs is one thing guys, but this is at a different level. If this was in this country I,m sure there,s a law that states you can be hauled before the authorities "for causing intent?" Sack the bloody lot of them.
I think FIFA are jointly responsible. Surely they would have some voice in ensuring and advising on crowd control at this event. They would have seen the police plan for the crowd control and could\should have raised concerns.
Hey SKM, I,m pretty sure that they should have voiced some concerns as Taff suggested. Its all about planning, and planning a March prior to the same countries playing a game of football linked with the knowledge of their turbelent history is not the greatest idea. Do you really believe that, that day was the only one available to hold both events? It does however beg the question, who planned what first and why didn,t the authorities communicate with one another? Another major cockup in my opinion I hope the lessons are learnt, its damaging football, and unfairly sticking a tag on the law abiding football fans. You,ve been away with the bluebirds, do you think you deserve the treatment you get from police forces across this country? This is a prime example of how things have to be nipped in the bud at the start, and in this case its the authorities to blame, and the reason is simple..communication.
you're probably right blue m8. a national day for the russians but a schedule is a schedule.. but i dont watch the city away so i wouldnt know
