has a Spanish or Italian team fallen foul to a goal that should have stood then? only reason why i can see those ****ers would agree to it, they didn't want to fecking know when Lampard got stitched.
I'm pretty certain that had the Lampard goal stood in the 2010 WC, it wouldn't have made one iota of a difference.
Much like Mendes' goal against Carroll in 2005 wouldn't have made on iota of difference to the league. But, much like that one, you can expect people to go on about it for the next decade anyway
Are you referring to the "goal" against England in the Euros? Goalline technology is a poor half measure for that situation. The ball crossed the line, but the player was massively offside in the build-up anyway.
At least Lamps might have been an accident, the Ukraine non goal v England was a real dodgy decision, a bee? a Bee?! it worked out nicely for England, they don't get a good goal when they were gonna be hammered anyway, the Ukraine error was much more beneficial and therefor went practically unmentioned
cant remember to be honest what game, but i remember him having a long range effort that hit the back of the net and coming back into play and no one saw it! and play just carried on. against Spain,Brazil,Germany someone like that.
Here are some stills from the game which let you see that the player was offside anyway: Most of the videos ignore this part of the play and focus on whether the ball crossed the line.
sorry didn't hit back of the net, hit the crossbar over the line then back out, but it was so obvious at the time it had crossed the line it was stupid. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...al-reignites-goal-line-technology-debate.html
Shame this wasn't in place when Garcia scored against Chelsea... would have stopped a lot of moaning on their part if there was technological evidence proving the goal was scored.
It is a shame, they'd have been down to ten man and Gerrard or Alonso would have bagged the resulting penalty
Yeah... their keeper sent off at that. Not sure how good Drogba is at goalkeeping. He was used to diving at the other end of the field.
If BR had a better win % and style then there wouldn't be a goal line decision to discuss. Seeing that all problems revert back to him.
Hockey has the best goal-line technology system that would work for footy in terms of keeping it simple and still fast paced. If the whole of the puck crosses the line, a light goes off and there is also an "eye in the sky" that shows it as well. Pretty simple and if anyone watches hockey it is extremely fast paced.
