Fifa ban England and Scotland from wearing the poppy on their shirts .what an absolute disgrace to millions of people who lost their lives in conflicts all over the world . fifa claim the poppy is a political symbol . far from it it's a symbol of remembrance to the fallen heroes . fifa is an absolute joke and a disgrace rant over .

In 2011 A Fifa edict said wearing poppies would break the rules about displaying political symbols - however, the ruling was reversed after Prince William and Prime Minister David Cameron wrote to complain.

It may be because, although every country mourns (in their own way) those that died in the War, the red poppy is not universal and some see it as not purely mourning the dead. Maybe they should just all wear black armbands.

Exactly Ron I heard on the radio today our fa have a meeting tomorrow to determine if there will be punishment for wearing the poppies on the shirt ie a fine or a points deduction . sounds ludicrous to me .bo××ocks to fifa we should just go ahead and wear them.

Id like to see England and Scotland just wear it anyway - is the referee really going to not allow the match to go ahead just because the players have it on their shirts/armbands?

Its a typical stance from FIFA, and whilst I can see why they would want to ban political statements I think some common sense is needed here and a basic understanding of what the poppy is suppose to represent.
