To continue Ensil's thread on Qatar anf FIFA, I've had this thought for a while. In other sports alternative organisations stage World events. Boxing has how many! the question there is, the possibilty of a new competion ran by someone else in place of FIFA. If every country's national FA went with it, what could they do...tata FIFA!

    Thoughts...or am I talking a loada nads!

It's really helped boxing, hasn't it?

Sorry Notso, but I think that it's a bad idea.
FIFA and it's local branches need to be fixed, not replaced.

PNP - In what way is replacing a corrupt organisation, which is basically common knowledge now, with one that isn't, and is transparent from day one. Even if FIFA 'repaired' the damage, that stain is always going to be there imo, complete trust again?...not from me atm.

But I see your point, its like the politician expenses scandal, its not the Parties that have been replaced its the personnel. Good point. <ok>

There's option 3 Ensil, UEFA to expand and take on the whole thing?...Not sure about them either. Funny coincidence in the CL draw, a newbie English club are drawn in Group A in a tough group...I wonder if they'll top it! :emoticon-0100-smile

Until Blatter retires or dies we're stuck with it as it is, his successor is when things will get sorted imo. When the biggest bent bastard's at the top with no-one to answer to, you've had it.

I think a more likely outcome is that a group of rich European clubs will break away from UEFA and set up a franchised competition along the lines of the NFL in the US. No promotion or relegation just a cosy cartel. They will get banned by UEFA and their national FAs so will not have to release players for national sides which will suit them fine.

The clubs already have too much power compared to UEFA or FIFA. Not sure national FAs declaring independence from FIFA wouldn't be the catalyst for something a whole lot worse. FIFA is certainly corrupt but I can't see much actual harm resulting, the World Cup in Qatar is a bit of a joke but hardly the end of the world.
