http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32915815 International women's teams will feature in football video game Fifa 2016 for the first time in its history. England captain Steph Houghton and her team-mates have been included with 11 other women's sides for play in one of several game modes. Until now only men's teams have featured on the popular EA Sports game which was first released in 1993. "To be one of the first female players included is something we'll always be able to look back on," said Houghton.
So career mode should be fun. Steph Houghton - I'm unhappy with my contract! Manager - Why? Steph Houghton - Because I am! (playet bursts into tears) Message - Your star striker will be unavailable for 9 months.
Saw this the other day and for some reason people were freaking out, I can't see a problem with it. Some people were reacting like they were going to be forced to play as a Women's team. Most people will just ignore the whole side of the game and play as normal, just like they do when watching real football.
Not sure if you're still having a pop at potential female game excuses pour just staying things you believe should be in the game
Surprised they've not already done this; some great PR work with being the first company to do it, even if it won't massively improve sales. What'll be interesting is how the stats compare because physical stats aren't going to be close to the men's stats, but blah blah.
I was wondering that. Will the stats be in comparison to the men in which case a lot will be lower or will the best females be similar to Messi
I remember Fifa 97/98 I think it was when you could dive Didn't last long but probably more realistic to include it now
Manager message - Players strike causes disruption, the England womens team calls strike action after new kit clashes with their boots. Actually that one would probably work for the men as well.
They'll have a women-relative rating system. So the second way. Marta for eg would be the Messi equivalent I guess. Doubt many people will use the feature. About time they're included but hopefully not at the expense of popular features. Lord knows EA are really lazy with FIFA at the best of times.
I remember FIFA International Soccer, the first one, when you could stand in front of the keeper and mash the 'head' button and when he tried to kick it out you would head it straight back into the top corner. Every other version I've tried that in I ended up slide tackling the keeper and getting sent off... I think they should give the women realistic stats. That would make it a challenge for people - can you beat Barca when playing as England ladies. Tho' most people probably could tbf
True Haven't some actually taken to wearing two different colour boots, just to avoid such a catastrophe
On older versions, I used to play as Stags against the likes of Barca on world class level and still win!
