Will man utd be penalised for fielding an understrength team or does the rule only apply in the Prem?
Personally I think it is one of the most ridiculous situations ever. The PL fine teams for putting out weakened sides, but you have to name a 25 man squad twice a year after each transfer window. Therefore all 25 are eligible for 1st team football and clubs should be able to play any of the 25. Consequently Man Utd should not be fined but nor should Blackpool have been. Madness
I agree. If the FA don't want teams to utilise their squad they should only allow 16 players to be registered for the season (11 starters and 5 subs) which would be ridiculous.
It only counts if you're fielding players that the Premier League haven't heard of before. Why have a 25 man squad if you cannot select them? It's like saying to a manager, yes you can have your squad but WE the Premier League will decide who plays and who doesn't. Stupidity!
It's football gone mad simples. WHY do we have to have 25 player's then. Someone should ask the F.A. that question cos they are the idiots who make the rules then fine clubs like Blackpool who play ANY one of (their 25) that doesn't play regular first team footie. Whoever said " The worlds gone mad" how right they were! The F.A. should fine themselves and foreit all their " complmentary seats " for the final and give them to someone who SUPPORTS the TWO Finalists, Ouch! Maybe I ring and tell them exactly that!
