Is there any point in FFP when it's never upheld? Personally I think it should be scrapped anyway and clubs should be able to spend whatever they like. Your thoughts
The Daily Mail is a sack of ****. They printed that bullshit story last week & are now back tracking. The actual reality is, that the club offered up its forecast before the start of the season and agreed spending limits with the PL.
It's all a crock of ****.. Evertons owners should be able to spent what they like imo... It only helps the big 6 or so called big 6
I agree, it’s their money, as they’ve not saddled the club with debt. However, it is what it is & so we took the path of complete transparency well before the financial year ended. The story they printed last week was pure lazy hackery, as even I knew we’d opened up to the PL ages ago.
the trouble with that is if / when something happens to an owner the club can suddenly find themselves saddled with an unmanageable wage bill .
Indeed but that's not and shouldn't be anyone else's concern. Ffp is about killing competition as much as it is anything else. I personally want it scrapped but obviously I'd say that now.
The your club thing is the issue. It's not the fans club. It's a business and to get the bigger revenue you have to spend big.
In theory FFP sounds good. In practice it just encourages cheating and favours those who bend the rules. FFP was supposed to encourage a level playing field, but in reality it means the same established teams will always remain top. I'm not in favour of FFP because it just encourages finding creative ways to break the rules. City are going to spend unlimited cash regardless, and no doubt Newcastle will find ways too. Just make it all transparent.
"It's a business and to get the bigger revenue you have to spend big" is what i replied to and when i show that isn't true you move the goalposts . The way to increase revenue is be very well run and successful on the pitch and just having rich owners pumping money in isn't a guarantee of increasing revenue never mind true profit just ask Moshiri .
Personally rather than present FFP rules i'd prefer something along the lines of a percentage limit on the wage / revenue figure .
I haven't moved them at all.. I've told you what I think and I've told you it shouldn't be upto anyone other than who's money it is that dictates how much they can spend.
