Platini has come out and said that the powers that be are looking to relax the FFP restrictions for next season.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32784375

Basically it's a stitch up where the rich Billionaires have 'had a word' with him and his cronies and said it's grossly unfair that they can't further distort the game.

If the guidelines are working then why change them? It's like saying the 20mph limit outside my daughters school has been successful in reducing driving speeds and therein risks so it's time to put the speed back up.

The PL will get even more polarised now and some smaller clubs who have to spend bigger to stay in touch will run the risk of doing a Leeds.

Luckily our fat controller won't let us go down that route... plus we'll be in the Championship anyways.

Another reason why the Championship may be a good thing.. in a kinda perverse sort of way.

FFP was always doomed to failure. Football isn't a typical business and controlling spending when you have some of the wealthiest people in the world involved was always going to be difficult. The PL is just like every other mickey mouse European League now; dominated by 2-3 teams. The likes of Chelsea and Man City will be able to go out and buy every decent player to stop any competition. The PL is a pointless competition. You're basically playing for the scraps whilst earning decent money along the way. No entertainment value [despite what Sky like to say.] Give me the Championship. At least you can never predict who will actually win it. A truly competitive league. **** the FA and PL.

The only possible measure to stop the teams running away with it are limits on numbers of registered players, significant limits on 'feeder' club ownership and a salary cap - if not per player, then per club.

Very, very simplistic, no masses and masses of financial administration, just a simple set of rules designed to flatten the field. Such changes will never happen, because ultimately FIFA, UEFA and the FA are scared.

....or go the whole hog and re-introduce the three foreigner rule. It worked well until a certain Jean Marc Bosman decided to start the ball rolling.....

God, I'd love to see someone ram something up Brussels @rse. Thing is, EVERYTHING was working. Jimmy Hill and JM Bosman are a couple of cnts and neither really benefited either, they just collectively injected football with a slow-working poison. The European Cup was great, even the UEFA Cup was interesting. The Premier League was passable enough when Division One was under it.

I mean, the changes came in and - guess what - the biggest club won everything (Man U) with smatterings of success from the 2nd and 3rd biggest of the time (L'pool, Arsenal). Now, the richest clubs win everything. I mean, why do these meddling fcking halfwits keep fannying around with this stuff? Christ, Capitalism is such a disgusting disease.....

The Champions League is a piss take. Champions? If you finish 4th you're not a ****ing Champion. Why should a team from Luxembourg be denied the chance to play someone like Real Madrid? **** off. Bring back the old European Cup where just the league winners qualified. UEFA Cup - Fantastic competition to watch. Again, ruined by those ****s at UEFA. Cup Winners Cup - Brilliant competition. Bring it back.

Salary caps - I see Sterling is yet another modern professional whining because he is only being offered £100K per week. **** off you snivelling little over privileged ****. You're not that ****ing good and have the audacity to demand more money?

JM Bosman - Cried like a baby because his club wouldn't sell him to some ****ty Belgian side wouldn't give in to his ****ing demands. Brussels and Strasbourg can **** right off. These are the same idiots that bring all kinds of crazy laws to satisfy the do-gooders.

Will be pleased to see the FFP go.
Stifling for ambitious football clubs, aimed at ensuring the rich get richer and making it virtually impossible to bridge the gap.

The rules made it simple for someone like Ashley to spout out crap, how NUFC was keeping within FFP rules.
With them gone, who knows it may make clubs like ours more viable for buying.
Clutching at straws maybe, but, under FFP, no one would have any reason to buy Ashley out and try and build a successful club, as they would be stopped before they goy out the stalls.

Agree with this. In my little brain I think UEFA have finally cracked after the 10,000th person said they'd LOVE to buy NUFC, but FFP was stopping them.
