My personal view is that in the unlikely event that Everton do get found guilty, nothing will be done this season. Thoughts?
I’d have hazard a guess that the board knew this was coming and appointing fat Frank (knowing his pals at the FA watch out for him) would give them an increased chance of no punishment this season
Hopefully they’ll get relegated anyway, get minus 25 points in the Championship, and end up in League One. They’ve knowingly cheated.
Well we know if it was us we would have been dealt a severe blow already, the f.a. don't like us and the don departing for sheikhdom only riled them further, the way they are playing at the moment gives me hope that they are worse than us! Everton is a great old club who have been run shambolically lately spending vast amounts with no reward and now this time they have hired a right "sherbet"
Everton have played fast and loose with money laundering here, no doubt about it. Usmanov was bankrolling the stadium and was to be called USM Stadium. He also pumped big cash into the training complex and all training kits have USM all over them. Usmanov has had his yacht taken by the Germans and is even bigger than Abramovitchs. He has had his money frozen by UK, EU and USA. Putins big mate So not only have they cheated FFFP rules they have used bent money
BecUse hes not the actual owner mate, thats a yank idiot. They roped in Usmanov for bis money and long term ownership. All that money going towards the new stadium will now have dried up though
Well, the chances of Everton getting a points deduction this season is remote ... FA too scared to relegate an "important" club that helps to sell TV rights ... it's all about the money, honey, but you're absolutely right to ask Jocko also, it seems a points deduction will only apply if Everton aren't relegated as this FFP breach is not enforceable if they're in the Championship ... however, if they get instant promotion, then they will probably be in trouble upon their return as their debts will still be too high
In reality though they’re a bit of a nothing club with a relatively small fan base. No neutral is going to say “Oh look, Everton are playing, let’s watch them” there’s no allure to them at all. If the PL lost Everton I don’t think the worldwide audience would even notice.
Mmmm? I know of another team languishing at the base of the PL that your remark could equally apply to.
