Just seen this on another forum so thought I would put it here. Pleased I did as although I live in Ferriby I didn't know so will be off to get a ticket soon as they are also on sale at the post office in Ferriby Just also found the original message on Hull City Facebook page Morning All, Just an absolute final reminder that tonight's game at North Ferriby (KO 7.30pm) is all-ticket - you will not be able to pay at the gate. Tickets available from the KC Stadium Ticket Office - £10 Adults, £5 Concessions. It will be pay on the gate at Winterton this evening (KO 7pm) - £5 Adults, £3 Concessions. And before you ask...the squad lists for the games haven't been decided yet!
Sucks that you cant pay on the gate. Surely they cant be expecting that many? What happened to being able to get them from Ferriby Post Office?
Check my bit of the message, you can but that closes at 5pm I think the problem is that because the capacity is so low that if they allow pay on the gate & a lot turn up that they might have to turn away people with tickets since their systems are out of the Ark & no way to know how many walk ups there are.
The game is usually a sell out, obviously there are ground restrictions but there's usually close to or just over 2000 there. Winterton is usually dead, me and the missus went last year and there were about 20 fans plus Burnsy. The pies alone don't sway it, Ferriby is always the better day out.
Nothing wrong with the pie, chips, peas & gravy at Ferriby either, except the long queues with a big turnout. Best bet have a meal at the Duke of Cumberland first (and of course a beer or four)
I actually used to work for Anne at Ionians a few years ago and my friend was the chef at the Duke for a couple of years. Always get a good beer in there and it's not too expensive.
Memories..I used to work as a waiter at the Duke in the mid-60's. Do they still have an upstairs bar on a Sunday night ?
Get there early. Despite the fact that TICKLES wont be at the game at the start DAVID BURNS will be. Extra pies have been ordered and they are yummi. FACT. Buy early to avoid disapoointment. You have been warned.!!!
Candy Man will be making the journey to Ferriby tonight as I enjoy Pre-Season friendlies as you can realise the teams strengths and weaknesses early (I like being insightful). I have to mention too, that the pie, chips, peas and gravy are sublime at Ferriby. Very good.
Squads for Tonight: vs. North Ferriby Aimson, Brady, Boyd, Bruce, Cairney, Davies, Dixon, Jahraldo-Martin, Koren, McShane, McGregor, Proschwitz, Quinn, Rosenior, Topliss. vs. Winterton Rangers Aluko, Barlow, Chester, Clappison, Chambers, Cracknell, Dudgeon, Evans, Faye Fryatt, Jakupovic, McElroy, Meyler, Stewart, Townsend.
The confirmed squad playing tonight: McGregor, Aimson, Brady, Boyd, Bruce, Cairney, Davies, Dixon, Koren, Jahraldo-Martin, McShane, Proschwitz, Quinn, Rosenior, Topliss EDIT: SNAP!
Would seem the Winterton squad includes a number of injury prone/recently injured players? Or is that just co-incidence? Would've liked to have seen Aluko (because he's class) and Townsend (he's looked good on the rare occasions I've seen him play) but should still make for a decent game, and a chance to see this Jahraldo-Martin lad.
Yeah, I would expect Steve Bruce to be at North Ferriby too. I'm looking forward to seeing our new signings play. Don't know if it's been said, but where's Elmohamady and Figueroa?
Can sometimes be a bit of a 'lose-lose' situation for unknown players in games like this though, if they're **** everyone says they're **** and if they're good everyone just says it's only Ferriby. I remember that being the case when we had Jerome Thomas on trial and he scored against them.
Hmmm no, I'm going to consult the guy I got the team news from. Although it doesn't surprise me that Martin is playing against Ferriby, apparently he was very impressive agains Scarborough and his finish was sublime.
I'm glad I chose to go to Ferriby now. Would like to see what that Jahraldo-Martin lad is like. I completely forgot we even signed him up last season.
