Interesting news from the BBC here. It seems that Ferrari made an attempt to bring Adrian Newey to Italy, but he wasn't interested. Is this sort of story a bit of a morale disaster before a season commences? Whilst I'm sure everyone in F1 knows that Newey is probably the best, its probably not the best for your own chief designer to hear you admitting it. You don't want him/her to feel that they were second choice really either!
I'm not surprised he turned it down, he's on a good wage and they have a good structure in place at Red Bull. I think he'll probably go there in the end though, the lure of becoming the first man to win championships with four different teams and the prestige of Ferrari will see him there one day. I wouldn't be surprised if Vettel moved there in 2015 and took Newey with him, like Schumacher, Brawn and Byrne did in 1996.
Will probably peeve off the Ferrari design team, which will either work harder to show their worth, or just think what's the point. To get to where they are they must have a can-do attitude so they will probably up their game. All a ploy by Ferrari management maybe?
I love the term "jokingly". Is that saving face or what, reminds me of kids in the paly ground asking out girls only to say they were only joking when they get turned down. lol
I believe Vettel's contract is very much tied in with Adrian Newey. Whether or not this works in reverse, I'm not sure, but I would expect so. Therefore I think it's reasonable to assume that if Vettel does eventually go to Ferrari, they will go as a pair. Lucky boy Vettel; to have found such favour with the top man. (Incidentally, A G mentioned Newey being "on a good wage". - You bet! At an estimated ã10million per year, I believe he is the highest paid engineer on the planet!)
this is old news. I think ive commented here before about it saying if they want vettel then they need to sign newey too
And you know what El_Bando? I've repeated myself so often I've never kept count! - It's bound to happen occasionally and of course not everyone sees all of our posts; it's the nature of the beast I'm afraid. Right. Is anyone going to watch first Practice 'Live'?
First practice is easy. I've been building a routine this week so I will be able to stay up (I have slept through all my morning lessons this week as a result). Second practice might be a bit more difficult.
