Apparently we've lodged a £12m bid and he didn't travel with the owls at the weekend.

    Can anyone verify this?

Derby lodged a bid of £7m; he wants out so refused to play. Strong rumour we want him and will outbid Derby, I'd love him here I mentioned him midway through the Summer. Suspect the £12m might refer to overall package (£8m + fees?)

Sounds a decent player but is he what we need? At 5ft 7 he's another nimble tricky small striker like Gayle, Perez and Arma. Still need another big strong striker even if we get him.

Difference is he makes things happen. Perez, Arma and Gayle are ALL finishers - I have seen nothing to suggest, ever, that Perez is a creator. Arma needs to go on loan, Gayle 1st choice, Perez 2nd. We need a playmaker, someone who wants the ball and will make things happen - Gini was like that in the first couple of months before the sh!teness of the squad caught up with him. We need to replace him.

We were inches from signing him last season. He plays behind the striker and is more a creative influence, very similar to McCormack in many ways but doesn't get the same number of goals to go with the assists

Starting to think Rafa's transfer policy is to throw enough **** at the wall and hope some of it sticks. We can sign this lad if he likes but we still need a winger and a striker who can handle himself. And a left back.

In light of Forestieri coming out and apologising for his behaviour (perhaps he realised we weren't interested and decided Derby wasn't much of a step up), there's been a tenuous link to Hull's Abel Hernandez.

Be a ridiculously good signing but why on earth would he make the step down (I suppose you could question why Diame did)

I would prefer Hernandez to Forrest, only on the basis that I have seen hernandez play more often and the kid got 20 goals last year, although i wouldnt be keen on him being our striker in the prem. Hernandez has always spoken of his love for Newcastle even when at palermo, as an out an out striker we should bring him in and get rid of Riv, giving us Gayle, Mitro, Arma and Hern as our striking options.

I think we might be sneakily trying to just buy up Hull FC. Be quite cheap..

Quickest promotion ever. Move the team to SJP, change the name to Newcastle United and sign the decent players out of our squad, jobs a good un.
