Thursday, 8 November 2012 Fernandes Turns Off Transfer Tap At QPR Has Fernandes blown his wad? He's stepping back in Formula 1 and has now said that there will be no splurge of money in the January transfer window. The Malaysian West Ham fan pointedly says that Hughes has "a good enough squad" and complains, "Weâve made a lot of changes and brought in a lot of players over the past three transfer windows." That must make awkward reading for Hughes. Now, it will be "a little bit of business rather than a massive amount" in January, irrespective of where QPR are in the table. It seems as if Fernandes is getting bored with his plaything and is fed up of chucking money down the drain. The trouble is, this QPR squad is not good enough as results so far this season have shown. Warnock and Hughes have assembled a bunch of mediocre mercenaries who, now they have secured contracts, don't give a toss about the club, the manager nor the long suffering gRs. QPR escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth last season but your luck runs out eventually. If Fernandes isn't willing to buy them safety, QPR look a very good bet to slip through the relegation trap door, with or without 'Arry! Posted by Hammersfan at 17:55
Obviously a rather dull perspective on life, but is Fernandez thinking long term in that if our squad isn't good enough, he knows he can afford to go down and start again with this squad, and so doesn't want to add a lot more to the wage bill so we would be ruined by relegation? That said it would be VERY disappointing if he goes into January already resigned to being relegated.
Hes not got the kind of money that the Mittals have,so Im not suprised he wants to tighten the purse strings a bit!. Relegation at this point would be a nightmare and no,he cannot afford to get relegated with the wages, contracts not to mention the millions lost in sponsorship, revenue,tv,etc.I dont think for a minute he thought we would be in this position,so Im sure a bit of panic must be setting in. Not very good at the mo.
Ok, so we have a good enough squad and MH is one of the best managers around. Hang on Tony, we're second last. There's a weak link in there somewhere. Which one is it??
I still would not be surprised to see Chris Samba in The Hoops in January. Has good relationship with Hughes, probably being racially abused in Russia and wanted to come last Jan. Him and our striker's finding the net and we will be sorted. There is too much at stake to not spend a little more in Jan.
FFS This is a piece of tripe written by a Hammers fan. Some is factually incorrect , some of it is pure specualtion and some of it is presented in a way to make 2 + 2 equal 5. Why is such crap even being posted on here? I am getting fed up with a few individuals who seem to trawl the net looking for as much negative stuff as they can find no matter who it is written by and what their own agendas might be.
Eamonn if your fed up sod off to another board, I'm also getting fed up of you moaning on here like some old tart
Posted by Hammersfan? Is he some sort of authority or something? What a load of bollocks. May be it was the bad news that Obama won again Didn't help TF's cause for AirAsia with Obama back in office!
Who on Earh was expecting big spending in January anyway? A striker and a defender and that'll be it. Maybe even just a Centre Back if we recall DJ or Hulse.
There goes any chance of Harry coming our way. if he's got no money to spend, he won't join ...................... and I don't have a problem with that. We just need someone who can get the best out of the good team we have ................ and our problems should be, I said should be, solved.
TF has been quoted widely saying there will be little spent in January. If he thinks the squad IS good enough it shows how deluded he is. The defence is suspect across the line and we lack an incisive goalscorer, leave the squad as it is and we'll be lucky to get 20 points this season...
Eamon is entitled to his opinion, that's what forums are for unless I'm very much mistaken! Also, I agree with him 100% Hammersfan was just intent on stirring the pot!
TF said in his interview on sky sports news on Monday that our squad is good enough to stay in the prem and won't be spending much. It's not factually incorrect, it's very much true.
