Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes had told West London Sport that he wants to start developing talent, rather than paying for it.
QPR have had to spend big in recent years to enhance their squad to compete in the Premier League, but Fernandes insists that this is not their long-term policy.
Instead the R's are determined to improve their record at bringing players through from their youth team.
“The academy is going to be the culture," Fernandes said. "If that’s the last thing I do it is going to be that players come through our academy.
“We’re not going to be a buying club. We’re going to be a developing club. We’re going to develop players through the system."
Why Tony Fernandes has a huge decision to make at QPR[/a]
QPR did not provide Harry Redknapp with funds to spend on new players - even though they are competing against the drop - with loans and free transfers targeted.
So far the side have brought in Mauro Zarate on loan from West Ham United, and it does not seem they will be doing too much other business before the window closes.

A few years in the Championship then. Fair enough if there is a proper long term strategy. Not with Harry in charge either.

If, as TF says, we are heading towards being a 'non buying' club, why the hell did we just let two young stars go?
Also, regardless of what position we are in the table, if we really want to be a junior funded club, we need to play them regularly.
We need to have one or two on the bench each week and or starting.
    Someone please inform Harold.

Every time I read new insights and strategies from TF I always feel sorry for the 3rd rate PR agency that was used to write it for him.
