Guys, you've got to watch the Amit interview! After watching that and the TF interview I am absolutely buzzing with excitement! I love Amit, he's so open and honestly, and hearing him say "tons of take-aways" with his accent is a beautiful thing... http://www.bloomberg.com/video/74172700/
Ouch! Hoops against a blue sky back drop?? It'd look like a convoy of UFOs to the untrained eye imo!!
Cardiff fan, It is always good when new investors come along just when you need them, We have Malaysian investors and they have acted honourably towards our club, with luck you will get the funds you need now.
Thanks mate thats a shock coming from a cardiff fan...Nice to see your not all the same mate. Ur welcome to this board whenever u like
Must confess I didn't bother with the TF interview because he's a new broom and I know what he's coming with. Does come across as very genuine though and his Uxbridge Rd roots (and accent) will more than do for me! HOWEVER, Knowing what a friendly Gorkss you are, and like me an avid Amit junkie, I couldn't resist your recommendation to watch the Bhatia interview. You're right (as usual), such honesty and integrity our Amit. Just can't believe we're lucky enough to get him back. Great interview, great guy, great advice from you me old Friendly! Talking of songs to fit the occasion (Norf: ya reading?) - Joni Mitchell's 'Big Yellow Taxi' ('Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till its gone')!
Two really interesting interview that fill me with hope. Interesting that * Ferdy didn't offer much more than the Mittals, who seemed to have shot themselves in the foot by the way their offer was communicated to the Goons, hacking them off and making things personal *The Goons have not made a fortune out of the club * Amit and the new CEO will be hands on, and Ferdy will be at the end of a phone I like what I see of Ferdy. His laugh where he follows one of his jokes with errrrrrrrrrrrr! reminds me of a Harry Enfield character. He's a budding billionaire, no doubt. Amit - Ferdy, Laksmi-Air Asia - these could be phenomenal partnerships for us - we're like an Air Asia plane with a f*cking great engine under each wing - glad to be here for the ride...
Cheers Brix, glad you liked it mate! Goldie - Yeah, really interesting to hear that the Mittals actually offered the Goons a similar amount to Ferdi. Just goes to show what massive egotist tw*ts the Goons are to rather keep hold of something they don't actually want, just so they didn't lose face to the Mittals. We're just lucky that there was someone like Ferdi willing to take us on. Also it was interesting to hear that TF and AB have been talking to each other for a few weeks before the take over was confirmed. All bodes well that they have similar visions and may actually be able to work well together. Happy days!
I think i agree, they both come over very well in their interviews, really astute business men that say all the right things and i honestly do believe they mean what they are saying. The only thing that slightly worries me is the 'we want to run QPR as a proper business' and 'we want to build from the ground up stuff' whilst this all makes perfect sense is it really possible to run a club the size of QPR, with the wage demands of premier league players as a'proper' business? I'm not sure football clubs are proper businesses, as businesses go they are generally nuts... I hope they can - i really do, and I am more than happy with the situation and look forward to them trying but its hard to imagine a lengthy stay in the premiership without the sort of investment that just wouldn't make sense to somebody who is trying to run a proper business i.e. one that makes a profit or at least breaks even and is sustainable. If i'm being honest part of me just wants them to throw bags of cash at the club in a totally non sustainable Man City sort of way.... Either way it's certainly nice to have owners that you don't basically despise.
Goons massive egotist tw*ts? Yes, spot on, Kaspers. And miserable b*ggers. LR must be a much better place to work as of yesterday, and I'm sure that will transfer itself to the players...all they have to fear now is NW when he's on the war path...
Cannock I know what you mean - part of me is yelling be irresponsible so just once in my lifetime we win something big! But I was very impressed with the interviews and suspect that they have some kind of vision for a sustainable business, though like you it's beyond me how this can be done with our fan base. Bit I liked best was TFs commitment even if we don't stay up.
