By Paul Warburton TONY Fernandes paid £60million to take control of QPR and will give manager Neil Warnock another £10million to bring in up to five players over the next 12 days. The airline mogul is part of a three-man consortium from his native Malaysia – and takes immediate control of the 67 percent stake previously owned by Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone. However, the Mittal family declined to sell their 33 percent stake. And although Fernandes, expected to be presented at a press conference this afternoon, is now calling the shots, he has accepted he cannot have total control of Rangers – for the time being. http://www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/london-sport/london-qpr/2011/08/18/fernandes-completes-60million-takeover-of-qpr-64767-29258152/
So it's true then; can't wait for the press conference. The devil will be in the detail , no doubt.....
This explains where some of his money is coming from. Be interested to know who the other two individuals are
Reading all the press reports I have seen Fernandes has 51%, 55%, 61%, 65% and now 67%. I wonder which one will be right!
SSN reports TF has brought 51% and LM buying up the rest and Amit back on the board. News conferance at 130pm!!
so its 13:30pm now for the press conference. I have heard so many shares percentages im totally confused I think we might have to run a sweepstake on it weve had so many suggestions!
Well I bloody hope fernandes' share and mittals share add up to 100%. BBC sport are reporting 66% and 33% respectively and I'd be very peeved if flabio held on to 1% just so he can show his ugly mug around LR.
