TransferMarketWeb report that Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to make a move for Sunderland keeper Simon Mignolet is he is forced to allow David de Gea to leave Old Trafford. There has been a great deal of speculation about the Spaniard’s future as the 21 year old appears to be currently losing the fight for the starting spot in Man United’s first team set-up to Anders Lindegaard.

The 24 year old Black Cats keeper Mignolet has shown great consistency that effectively put paid to Craig Gordon’s Sunderland career and there is perhaps a chance that the former Sint-Truiden custodian would be keen on a move to Man United but presumably only if he was confident of securing the starting spot.

De Gea has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid and if such a departure occurred then there may well be a possible move by Ferguson to bring in effective reinforcements.
