Just watched the interview with Fergus and Traynor from 2004 I think. Fergus really was a legend. Still can't believe fans booed him when unfurling the flag in 1998. Fergus is one of the most influential figures in Celtic's history. I'd love to see a statue of The Bunnett, as I think he set us down the road of becoming the club we all want us to be. He certainly could show Murray a thing or two in how to keep promises. Fergus said he'd be here for 5 years, build a stadium, and win the league. He did all 3. He laid the foundations for the glories of Martin & WGS. I also love Fergus for standing up for Celtic against people like Jim Farry and indeed the media. Fergus never lost a case and also stood up to greedy players. As time goes by and looking at Rangers sorry plight we can surely now give a vote of thanks to The Bunnett.
I fell out with my wife that day ,she booed Fergus McCann , do you know 14 years on she nearly apologised recently!!!!Wouldn't pay more than an extra penny for anything , imagine if an other club had played within those rules. The man that finally proved the sfa and Scottish football corrupt , with Cadette affair .One thing Rangers will never do , they can do as many Marches and appeals as they want , they will never do what McCann did
Good post Tom, looking back on it now, surely the begrudgers at the time have to admit he saved Celtic football club. Yes he walked away a profit but, without his input then, God knows where we would be now.
Harry your wife is lucky she is married to a sane moderate Celtic fan. On the other hand if she had happened to have been married to one of the huns, the two of you wouldn't be speaking yet.
