    Chairman's Statement: 21.02.15
It saddens me to say that the club has this evening parted ways with one of the finest managers in our clubs history. After Speaking with Darren, he feels that a new challenge is needed for both himself and the football club.
We have had over 8 incredible years together with tremendous success on and off the field. I will be forever in his debt for the great times, fantastic football and professionalism he has brought to our football club. I also have no doubt that wherever he goes next, it will lead to great success for him and the club he next works for. The club has also this evening parted ways with Gary Breen, Gavin Strachan, Jimmy Walker, Stewart England and Marc Lindsey.
I’m personally very disappointed in our current league position, the performances from our playing squad and the fact that we have dropped way below our own standards that we set out at as a football club. There is plenty of young and experienced talent in this squad and with 14 games left in the season, I have personal expectations that our players will all lift their performance levels to match the incredible passionate performance and display by nearly 2000 Posh fans today when we were 3-0 down at Stadium MK.
It has not been our finest 6 months results wise or performance wise as a football team and my remit is to now go out and find a new football manager and coaching staff that will challenge and inspire these players to greater heights and to start fulfilling their potential individually and collectively. Some fans have questioned my own commitment, interest, investment and passion for this football club recently; so to them I say with full sincerity and honesty, I am hungrier than ever to get this club back into the Championship and beyond and to deliver on the promises I have made to the city of Peterborough.
I won’t stop until we are scoring goals for fun, entertaining our fans, building our fan base and winning promotions once more with a young exciting vibrant squad. I love being Chairman of this football club and losing games like today and Tuesday in the manner we did absolutely destroys me and chips away at me non-stop, so trust me and give me the time to get it right again. A football club is only as strong as its supporters and today demonstrated to me deep to the bone why this short term pain will be worth it long term. I have you the supporters to thank for that feeling and the optimism I feel going forward.
Dave Robertson will be in charge until such time as I appoint a new first team manager and coaching staff, so let’s give him the support he deserves for the upcoming home game against Bradford.
    Thank you for your support

'It is with great sadness and regret that my time at Peterborough United has come to an end. The great times will stay with me and my memories of the club are nothing but positive.

'My sincere thanks to all my staff who worked tirelessly to achieve the success that we had and I wish all of them good luck for the future. I would like to thank all the players who showed courage and passion during my time which of course included leading the club to three promotions and winning The Johnstone's Paint Trophy. I have taken great pleasure in watching so many of them developing their careers and playing great football in the higher leagues.

'Thank you to Bob Symns and Barry Fry for their help, advice and support.

'Thanks to Darragh MacAnthony, a great Chairman who had faith in me, supported me and gave me my first role as a manager. The Posh are very lucky to have such a dedicated Chairman and I am sure he will have success again.

'Finally, and most importantly, thank you to the brilliant Posh fans who have been there all the way. The days we had at Hereford, Colchester, Old Trafford and Wembley will be etched on all our minds as some of the greatest Posh moments and I am extremely proud to have been part of that. The support from the fans during my last game at MK Dons was outstanding, the defiance they showed in the midst of being beaten by our greatest rivals tells its own story.

'I would like to wish Peterborough United the very best of luck for the future and thanks again for having me.'

Please feel free to post football related threads ...... I did that when I first started on here but when there a no other Posh fans around it becomes pointless after a while

All my Posh mates use facebook to chat on & can't be arsed to use this site...... so that is where I chat Posh now. The only reason I still post on here is to have a laugh with fans from other clubs & do my prediction league

As for Fergie ..... never been his greatest fan but while he was our manager we did have some great times. Yes he had lost the plot .... had no plan b ...... never seemed to play players in their best positions but while Darragh was willing to give him time I felt we needed to be supportive. I am a big Darragh fan.

Am totally delighted he has given Robbo the chance to have & go. Am delighted with his success so far & hope it continues. I love his attitude toward the players, club, fans & life in general & feel much prouder to be a Posh fan with him in charge.
