"Having spoken with the Glazer family, there is every intention to kick on.

"We possibly need two players. It depends. If a player came along who met our criteria we would push the boat out and get him, irrespective of how many players we have."

Might be the dreamer in me, but could that be a hint that we'll be going after Falcao or Lewandowski? The "irrespective of how many players we have" comment shows that he knows and is aware we're pretty well stacked with van Persie, Rooney, Hernandez and Welbeck, but if a player of such talent is available, then it's a no brainer.

Ferdinand and possibly Jones aside, we tend not to "push the boat out" to bring in a defender.

Interesting comments, should be an exciting summer <cool>

It's the IF that bothers me.
That's just a convenient get out for them.

I'd like Falcao or Lewandowski if we could but we definitely, definitely need a centre mid, even if signing one of the above means a new role for Rooney.

    And possibly a left back.

Don't really want another forward to push Rooney into CM. We need a CM so why use Rooney as a makeshift one. Just buy a top class CM already!

Big Money Signing for me has to be midfield, its def our weakest part, raid Everton for Fellaini then nab Baines aswell. If we sell Nani (which i think we will) i wonder how Arjen Robben would fit with the dutch connection with RVP?
If we do sign a striker one will def leave rooney or Hernandez. And for me only Lebondowski is possible, Falcao im not sure of in our league.
And if we fancy buying for the future bthat Shaw kid from Southampton looks promising in Defence and loan him back like we did with Smalling to Fulham.

The 'if' doesn't bother me that much imo, as that's always the way we've done business. I'd rather say we'll get a player if we find one that's right for us, rather than saying **** we need a player let's throw money away on a Torres, Shevchenko, Veron, Carroll or Robbie Keane and mess up the balance of the team just for the sake of making a signing.

Didn't know you were American. O c'mon already.

Anyway, I'd love it if we signed Yaya, even if we have to pay 50m for it. He is the missing link, and we'll be a great team. Sell Nani and Ando to help this transfer.
