I agree with him, Jones is better than him than Terry was when he was 20 years old, i know the latter had Desailly, Lebouf to go through at Chelsea but our young defender has player over 50 games for us in almost a year, that's incredible, i also remember when we signed him, Gary Neville said he would be a future United and England captain, again, i agree with our former right-back, our promising youngster is a leader, takes a game by the scruff of the neck, he was worth the fee we paid for him a year ago, i think it was £16 million, that's a bargain in today;s market,, he's a come along way in a year, from being in a relegation battle to being in a pressure of a title race, also he's become an england international sa well. Jones does play like Terry but he's a cleaner version of him i.e. doesn't get into trouble, he lives a quiet live, if he can keep up this kind of perfomance up until the end of the season, i can see him being a major player for us next season considering we might not have Ferdinand next year due to him being out of contract in the summer and we don't know what's going to happen with Vidic after the Knee injury he picked up last year, i think we have to manage him like we do with Ferdinand.
that ' donkey' has played more games for United than your beloved captain has done for Chelsea this year, in a year's time, Jones will be ahead of him in the England squad.
possibly. Won't be able to tell till he matures, seems like a decent lad too saw an interview on soccer am a few months back.
Yeah he is, he talks like a 25 year old, he's not arrogant, if he can get us more goals, then i can see him being an important player for us this season.
in a year's time, Jones will be ahead of him in the England squad. I think Jones is way ahead of him tbh, considering Terry has retired from internationals
This. He's got "more" than Terry talent wise, but so do lots of defenders, all of whom failed to be as good as Terry. If Jones can match Terry for attitude, leadership and will to do anything to win, he'll be one of England's best defenders. But he's got a long way to go before he gets to that level, and injuries are hampering him atm.
He's got all the attributes to be an excellent footballing centre half, or sweeper or defensive mid. Whatever you want to call it now. I've no doubt he'll become one, as long as Fergie allows this and doesn't instead turn him into john o shea, a fill in for a number of positions. He was being called failure and a donkey earlier this season, which just shows you how little appreciation of the game so many users of this website have. Future England and United captain, no doubt. Bit early for the John Terry comparisons though.
Another chelsea thread. Why cant you just enjoy being top of the league... And lose the northern chip on your shoulders
