How is he doing after that Kolarov incident - who should have been sent off for launching himself at people like a human missile?

Just wondering if he perhaps has bruised or cracked ribs? I think he should have been subbed immediately, rather attempting to continue on carrying an obvious injury - for their 2nd goal he failed to track Tevez to the line and perhaps could have prevented the cross.

It was an OTT challenge but not malicious. I love seeing borderline stuff like that now and again. It reminds me of the old days when it was a good, hard (but fair) physical game.

    He'll be grand, he's a tough lad.

Multiple OTT challenges though - already on a yellow, the ref should have perhaps told him, do that stunt again and you're off.

Do you agree though that Ferdinand should have subbed right away, as he wasn't on his game 100% after that incident?

You're right, the lad should have been given a second yellow for it.

Ferdinand hasn't been 100% on his game for a year, never mind half of yesterday's game. He needs to be dropped for a few games so he can sort himself out. Hill has been scapegoated for Ferdinand's abysmal form. He's been fairly sh*t for us since he joined.

the truth is that Ferdinand is an average defender at this level
would not be surprised if he loses his place for the next game

Woudlnt have mattered, he did the same thing again on Onuoha and didnt get another yellow. You can bet Barton or Derry would have walked if they did it.

Ferdinand wasnt good and should be a sub from now on.

You have to say its no accident that Anton has never been capped by his country.

Kolarov should have gone. Chance for Mbia and Nelsen at the back. For the first time MH has some proper choices for the CB pairing and can put pressure on Onauha and Ferdinand to step up. Looking forward to seeing Mbia for the first time

He's an average defender but still has a lot to contribute. But just looking at the physique of the guy, I can't help but think that he could be much better if he applied himself because he's a big strong lad with plenty of pace.

Right on the nail Swords. I was about to post the same myself. FFS what is it with MH, and Anton and Park - both extremely over rated. Hill is a far better CB than Anton, Nelson was yesterday too.

Yeh Kolorov should have been sent off. Anton should never have been on.

This must be the first time there's pretty much a 100% consensus:

    Ferdinand should be benched.

Ferdinand is in the unfortunate position of being a defender who can't defend!

Do you think MH would have (over)paid for Ferdinand? That was a Warnock panic buy. Agree he is not up to scratch, my Mackem mates agree with the consensus on here - he is better with a real leader next to him, and Nelsen could be that man. But Mbia, Nelsen and Onuoha ahead of him in my CB list.
His main problem is intelligence - as you can tell from interviews. SWP and Traore, and perhaps Taarabt, also lacking in this department.
Don't agree on Park - he is an engine, will be perfect with the creativity of Granero and Faurlin.
