Ferdinand out for two weeks Helguson only rested against Liverpool and will return against United Last Updated: December 11, 2011 3:52pm The centre-back sustained the problem in the second half of his side's defeat at Liverpool on Saturday and had to be substituted. Warnock estimates Ferdinand is going to require at least 14 days to recover, but the QPR boss hopes Matthew Connolly (ankle) or Fitz Hall (hamstring) could return to provide cover. "It will probably be a couple of weeks and it opens the door for Matthew Connolly or Fitz Hall, who would be fit next week," said Warnock. Warnock also calmed fears surrounding the absence of Heidar Helguson at Anfield amid reports the in-form striker was either ill or injured. The decision had been taken to rest the Icelander, who has scored six goals in his last seven games, and he will return for next Sunday's match against Manchester United at Loftus Road. "It was squad rotation with Heidar; if he played yesterday there was a risk of him missing two to three weeks," he said. "It was only a minor thing and if it had been the last game of the season he would have played but he will be all right for next week." iReader http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11711/7371025/
I'm actually quite glad. Hes another one who's been coasting the last few games. A lot of these summer signings could do with taking a leaf out of our CCC players book (Tarbs excluded) and actually try a leg. Its frustrating beyond belief.
Sadly not playing well for us the last three games, yesterday he was very clumsy , for instance not controlling(lack of focus) the ball in first minute of the second half which lead to the corner Liverpool scored. Bad arial coverage with the goals of Long and Holt. Maybe this Terry business is still in his head who knows.
Are you joking? He's head and shoulders above our other centre-halves and his effort has been first-rate. This means one of Hill or Young will have to partner Gabbidon which hardly fills me with confidence against Rooney.
Always thought he looked to have a lot of potential, but he seems to have gone backwards a bit imo. Don't fancy him or Hall against Rooney tbh!
Yeah I know what you mean, maybe Hill as you say, but then MC at leftback so as to push Traore up to the left wing?
It's not only the terry business affecting Ferdinand, but probably the off the field threats against him and family that are having an impact. Would be nice for the Fa /premiership and police to get their arse in gear once and for all and deal with the issue.
They're almost all good. That's what frustrates me, we've not been fulfilling our potential recently. And if Ferdy's head ain't right he should either be rested until his head IS right or he should get his head right. Crucial period coming up now for the Club, maybe a couple of weeks out will do him good.
I know Traore looks good further forward, but I think he can still get there from full back. Also, I don't fancy Clint up against Nani or Valencia!!
