Ant ânâ wreck Landlord sues ace Ferdinand for 'trashing' flat SOCCER star Anton Ferdinand is being sued for £18,000 by a landlord who claims he left his luxury flat in trashed state. He has been accused of taking furniture from the riverside penthouse, wrecking carpets and flooring and owing thousands in rent arrears. Ferdinand, 27, denies the claims and the dispute will now be decided by a judge â the second time the QPR defender has been in court this year. He is being sued by landlord Peter Souter and his wife Cortina over alleged damage to the £750,000 pad on Gatesheadâs Quayside. Ferdinand moved into the £1,000-a-week property â which has stunning views over Newcastle and the famous Tyne Bridge â in August 2009 while playing for Sunderland. He took over the three-bedroom flat shortly after former teammate Dwight Yorke moved out. Ferdinand agreed to pay £25,000 advance rent for the two-storey pad â which has a state-of-the-art kitchen, mahogany and marble flooring, stainless steel circular staircase and electric curtains. The Souters were abroad when Ferdinand left in October 2010. But they claim they came back to find the flat in such a bad state it took a month to get it to a condition where it could re-let. They claim furniture was missing and that Ferdinand owed £2,739 in rent arrears. They are also asking for £800 for new locks, saying the player failed to return a set of keys. Ferdinand, who moved to the Loftus Road club in August last year, is contesting the claims. He admits he took some of the furniture by mistake â getting it mixed up some he bought from Yorke â but returned it. The star denies keeping a set of keys and being responsible for any damage. He says it is down to wear and tear and repairs can be met out of his £4,000 tenancy deposit â which can also pay any rent arrears. The case will heard at Londonâs Clerkenwell and Shoreditch County Court in October. Ferdinand appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court earlier this month to give evidence against John Terry, when the Chelsea skipper was cleared of racially abusing him. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...9dizCg&usg=AFQjCNE8a98oqgJ0VeMPla_vQ02uDercow
