Ferdinand considering statement Mon, 31 Oct 11:47:32 2011 Email Print Anton Ferdinand is considering releasing a statement giving his account of the clash with John Terry that led to an Football Association racism investigation into the Chelsea and England captain. On Tuesday, the FA announced that they had launched an investigation into allegations that Chelsea skipper Terry racially abused QPR defender Ferdinand during last Sunday's west London derby at Loftus Road. Terry denied the allegations in a statement in which he claimed there had been a misunderstanding and he was responding to a perceived accusation from Ferdinand that he had used a racist slur. The statement read: "I thought Anton was accusing me of using a racist slur against him. I responded aggressively, saying that I never used that term." It continued: "I would never say such a thing and I'm saddened that people would think so. I have known Anton for a long time and spoke to him about it after the game and there was no problem between us." It is understood Ferdinand does not recall any exchange with Terry in which he accused the England captain of racially abusing him. Rangers boss Neil Warnock confirmed on Friday Ferdinand had spoken to the FA. QPR are remaining tight-lipped about the situation, though owner Tony Fernandes has reiterated that the club fully supported their player. Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has also said the Chelsea players are behind Terry. He said: "All of the players have been quiet about it because we know what happened. Nothing happened, so there is nothing to discuss." Both players endured tough afternoons as they returned to action this weekend. Terry scored but slipped in the run-up to Arsenal's fourth goal as Chelsea lost 5-3 at Stamford Bridge. Ferdinand, meanwhile, was in the QPR team which was overwhelmed in a 3-1 defeat by Tottenham at White Hart Lane. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/31102011/63/ferdinand-considering-statement.html
i hope he shafts Terry, the sooner that adulterer is out of the England side the better, Cahill and Anton for Euro 2012?
Anton Ferdinand's spirit contained a message Rangers should heed Throughout one of the most turbulent weeks of his life, Anton Ferdinand's public demeanour remained steadfast. He wished, he said, to concentrate only on football, insisting that the allegations that he was racially abused by John Terry would not affect his performances for Queens Park Rangers. After the week Ferdinand has had, he could have been forgiven for hoping that simply doing his job would be easy by comparison. If he did think that, how wrong he was. Ferdinand did not have a bad game but few defences in England would be able to subdue an attack as fluent as that of Tottenham. After warming up with the rest of his team-mates in anti-racism t-shirts Ferdinand lost his defensive partner, Fitz Hall, to injury when the match was only nine minutes old. Emmanuel Adebayor's strength and mobility pulled Ferdinand and Danny Gabbidon, allies from West Ham's defeated FA Cup Final side in 2006, this way and that. Rafael van der Vaart glided forward from deep and asked tantalising questions. Gareth Bale buzzed in from the left to create more uncertainty. Behind them, Luka Modric conducted the orchestra. Football supporters can be a merciless bunch and, as such, chants aimed at Terry were inevitable. The first, though, was a Tottenham favourite about Ledley King and how he is better than the England captain, even though the Spurs centre-back has "only got one knee". That tune echoed around White Hart Lane when Hall sustained his injury but Ferdinand had more serious matters to consider. The 26-year-old tries to be a leader on the pitch and spoke animatedly to Alejandro Faurlin about how Rangers might hold back the Tottenham tide. In a lighter moment, Ferdinand shared a joke with Adebayor as the pair waited for Spurs goalkeeper Brad Friedel to restart the game. Ferdinand was one of the few Rangers players whose spirit did not waver in the first half and it was unfortunate that one of his best moments - a fine piece of anticipation to prevent Bale scoring his second goal - should lead to Spurs doubling their lead. Ferdinand's block flew straight to King. His mishit shot was controlled superbly by Van der Vaart and in a flash it was 2-0. Rangers were much better after the break and briefly thought they might grasp a point when substitute Jay Bothroyd headed past Friedel. Bale's splendid second ensured Ferdinand's tough week would end in disappointment. The allegations against Terry - which are denied by the Chelsea skipper - and the subsequent Football Association investigation will ensure Rangers remain big news for some time yet. Ferdinand's insistence that he is thinking solely about football might sound like the standard player's cliche but perhaps it contains a message that his team-mates must heed. Whichever direction the inquiry takes, Neil Warnock's team cannot afford to be distracted. Owner Tony Fernandes, Warnock, the players and supporters are all determined that Rangers stay up. At the final whistle, Ferdinand was the first player to walk towards the travelling fans to show his appreciation for their support. They returned the compliment with interest and as Ferdinand made his way towards the tunnel, he turned twice more to applaud them. "I thought he was head and shoulders above anyone else - the man of the match," said Warnock. While a few Spurs players might question that opinion, Ferdinand is looking forward to a time when he makes headlines for his defending alone. iReader http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/stand...it-contained-a-message-rangers-should-heed.do
FERDINAND STATEMENT Posted on: Mon 31 Oct 2011 QPR defender Anton Ferdinand has today issued the following statement: Today (Monday 31st October 2011) I finalised my statement with the Football Association with regards to the incident that occurred last Sunday at Loftus Road in our Barclays Premier League fixture against Chelsea. I have very strong feelings on the matter, but in the interests of fairness and not wishing to prejudice what I am sure will be a very thorough enquiry by the FA, this will be my last comment on the subject until the enquiry is concluded. I would like to thank the Club, Tony Fernandes, Amit Bhatia, Neil Warnock, the supporters and my fellow professionals for their unwavering support.
To me this statement says a lot without really saying anything. I think if he was going to stand up for John Terry he would of done it by now!! JT is is the sh1t!!!!!
If Terry is found guilty, then i cant see any other option than sacking him..firstly at Chelski then for England.
Ferdinand reveals Twitter abuse Published: 01 Nov 2011 - 10:17:0316 Views Comments Anton Ferdinand has been targeted with racist abuse via his Twitter account. The Football Association are investigating claims that QPR defender Ferdinand was the subject of a racial slur by Chelsea and England captain John Terry on October 23. Ferdinand released a statement on Monday saying he had "strong feelings" on the matter and backed the FA's inquiry. Ferdinand has retweeted messages of support sent to him - but also a shocking racist jibe at him that appears to be from a Chelsea fan. The player has submitted an account of his exchange with Terry during QPR's 1-0 win over Chelsea to the FA, and said in a statement: "I have very strong feelings on the matter, but in the interests of fairness and not wishing to prejudice what I am sure will be a very thorough inquiry by the FA, this will be my last comment on the subject until the inquiry is concluded." Terry has denied racially abusing Ferdinand, who he admitted had accused him of making a racist remark, but insisted his own response was actually a denial and not racist in any way. Chelsea refused to allow questions from journalists about the saga in Monday's press conference in Belgium ahead of their Champions League match against Genk. Terry, who has had a turbulent 18 months off the pitch, could find himself losing the England captaincy for the second time in his career if he is found guilty of racially abusing a fellow footballer on the pitch.
England maybe but be serious, players have done worse than what has been alleged before and not been sacked from their clubs. Players are worth too much and this is a Chelsea legend and club captain we are talking about. If guilty he will be punished by the club in some way but not sacked. Comments seem to suggest that there is certainly something Ferdinand wants looked into but if it was clear cut I'm sure it wouldn't have taken this long for something to be said by him. Seems he doesn't know himself if he has been racially abused or not. This will run and run.
