Hertha Berlin full back, former German U21 international is rumoured to be on the radar. Maybe Calderwood has recommended him from his time at Forest. Any ideas if he's any good? Can't say I can ever remember seeing him play!
No idea, but that's a great name. You know when you've got to substitute a four letter word for something else... FELIX BASTIANS! Sorry Supers, not really the input you were after
Isn't he yet another midfielder Supers? though I guess if he's a defensive midfielder he may fit the remit.
According to wiki he started out as a DM, there is nothing impressive in their right-up of him! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felix_Bastians
Found him on FIFA 12, he is a 22 year old left-back, pretty quick, awesome at crossing and doesn't really have any weaknesses according to the game anyway, also 6'2 so might offer a bit of aerial threat.
Woah woah woah. He's 6'2". Far too tall to be a fullback! Don't like him... But seriously, a decent signing- though he looks like he's only been at Hertha for six months so would he be ready to leave now?
Saw this on the Pink'un board and thought there might be something in it, given the pre-season match a week from Saturday. He plays LB now, but started out as a LW (thus the pace and good crossing ability). I wonder if PL was interested in him as a Wing-back for the diamond. Also interesting that Calderwood managed him at Forest and knows his abilities. Hertha were relegated last year, so he could be looking for a move. One to watch perhaps.
Imagine a match with him and Whittaker as our full backs. They may get skinned on the deck a few times, but no winger would be able to whip a decent cross in past lanky, gangly flailing-limbed giraffe-like defenders such as those
Sounds Ok, and being German he can probably kick a ball without it going 3/4 of the way up the pitch and thumping his chest afterwards with a passionate scream of testosterone.
There could be a 'poacher turned gamekeeper' or 'set a thief to catch a thief' argument about a LW turned LB! I think that height is an advantage at both positions.
Apply the same principle to every player in all positions except goalkeeper and you would genuinely have total football -- or total disaster, not sure which!
