............although also a little surprised. As with many on the prediction thread I was not expecting to win against Watford (never fancied it right from the draw some weeks ago tbh). Off the back of this game, does young Murphy deserve at least a place on the bench for a PL game in the coming weeks?
Great opportunity for Murphy which he seized with both hands. If you're comparing him to our other wingers, clearly he's very similar to Redmond, and I think in a league match that could hamper him. I'd still have Pilks and Snodgrass (just, based on what we know he can do) as first choice wingers, so if you want a pacy option from the bench, Redmond will obviously be first choice. But, seeing how Murphy kick-started our comeback, it'd be wrong for him not to be included in the squad for the next round, and as we've only got three fit senior wingers until Christmas (+Olsson, who it sounds like was poor yesterday in an advanced role), we're bound to pick up at least a few minor niggles in that time, and that paves the way for Murphy to get on the bench.
