When I started a thread asking which other Premier League striker(s) RvW most resembled, everyone who replied said Torres. So here is a follow-up question. What sort of service does Torres most thrive on? Or put another way, if RvW = Torres, how should we be feeding him? <ok>

Our 'wingers' need to be less selfish and actually getting the ball into the box, but preferrably not at head height; as that is not his strongest point. The through ball from Fer for GH's winner at Watford is exactlly the type of fodder on which RvW will thrive. I've a feeling that once he's become used to the demands of the PL and the skills of the defenders, he will thrive on 'crumbs'!!!!!

Without doubt he needs the ball at his feet rather than chest, head & god knows what else ! The poor sods had no help what so ever since he signed. The night we beat Watford I said on a thread he'd have killed for the pass Fer gave Hooper for the winner, but unfortunately in the next game at Stoke it was back to scraps ! Although I will say his control wasn't the best that day.

He's not bad in the air either, though we've hardly put a single decent cross into the box for him to get his noggin on since the Everton game. The slightly worrying thing is that he's hardly had any decent through balls to run onto either, and as has been said, that's where his real strength lies. He's shown he has great movement, we just need to start feeding that more and I'm sure the goals will start to come.

Watching MOTM last week, I thought it was interesting how they highlighted how successful 2 strikers were, hunting as a pack. Liverpool were the example given, but it will be interesting to see what happens when/if Hooper and the Mutts Nutts develop a partnership.

There is a couple of scenarios I agree with what JR has said about the wingers, the central midfielders need to be a bit more courageous and try the occasional through ball we have a forward with some superior movement who when played in will score, he also needs someone who can weave short passes to him when the opposition have numbers back, in my opinion the only play who is capable of doing this Hoolahan.
