Have to say if the deal goes ahead then i'm quite excited at the prospect of ince in a city shirt.
Some people on not606 have been quick to say the boys is not worth the gamble and that the asking price is high. Well it is a gamble but one i personally think will pay off. the kid is technically he's very good and some of the finishing is pure class no matter what league you are in. check the link below. when you think man utd paid 15mil for zaha i think hes just as good personally and we could be getting him for just over half the price of that.

anyway whoever gets him i think will get a very promising talented young English player.

No mention of cost in the article. In my opinion he needs to be first name on the team sheet if we are going to pay in excess of 5 million. Undoubted quality but the same was said of Velonjika who can score at random in the development squad but doesn't get a look in for the 1st team.

Velikonja came from a totally unknown league, he'll act as a warning to any other club thinking Slovenian football may have bargains waiting.

Ince is a proven performer creating and scoring at will in a very good Championship. He will definitely be one of the first names on our team sheet.

As an aside I think we should be taking the positives that MM isn't using the biggest part of his budget (surely Ince will be our main signing at 8mill if we do get him) on a lump of a CF to replace HH.

Maynard, Cambell, Kim, Bellers, Mutch, Gunnar, Ince, Witts, Noone are players that can only really try and play one way.

Ince would me a fantastic addition imo, however I am not so sure about that Wanayama character, seems like he may be a bit mercenary and will go to whoever pays the most wages.

i hope not about wanyama, i've seen him a few times in the champions league and i wouldnt pay anywhere near £10m for him.

ince, at the right price could be worth a punt. i've said in the past i think he's over rated, but if malky thinks he's worth the dough then thats good enough for me, he's been right far more than he's been wrong about a player......<ok>

Think he'll be a good buy if you get him <ok>

We could really have done with bringing him into our first team squad at Liverpool, he'd have been needed last year when we had to play teenagers everywhere!

He left us to play football, stayed at Blackpool to play... has the right attitude to succeed.

Would be great news if it goes through. He could be sensational in a season or two if not straight away.

I've banged on about it on here before, so I'll make no apologies for saying agian that if offered Ince or Zaha at the same price, I'd have taken Ince no question. At half the price of Zaha he is a relative bargain - and I don't think for one minute we'd be paying anything like £8M up front.

Not going to knock Zaha (again <laugh>), but he is vastly overated and will be found out at Prem level. Ince has the temperament to hit the big time - Zaha will blow up.

    Only an opinion of course.

Agreed Sparks, we have seen McNuggs stop Zaha in his tracks on several occasions and if he can do it then I am sure Prem defenders will also fancy their chances.

I think Ince has a more rounded game and is a better team player. I would love us to get him.

only in the championship is he proven to be a half decent player, he was not that good in the premiership like his father was so its a bit of a gamble depending what the fee and wages are.....the worst thing cardiff can do is bring in a load of players for a high price and put them on long contracts on wages that are to high. remember the chances of staying up are slim and you dont really want to go back to the bad old days of trying to buy success as it never happens unless you are one of the top sides...

Very true Dai. However MM is shrewd and any contracts will be written appropriately.

We seem to be linked with a lot of midfielders & here was I thinking we needed someone to put the ball in the net. What am I missing?

Maybe the fact that we've got Fraizer Campbell, Nicky Maynard, Craig Bellamy, Joe Mason, Rudy Gestede and Velikonja - and that's just up front.

With Kimbo, Gunnar, Whitts, Noone, Conway and now Ince in midfield (hopefully), there should be a few goals amongst that lot.

I do agree though that we need another big guy up front as an alternative to Rudy if we need to change the game plan.

Clarify 'like his father was' Dai.

Are you saying Paul was or wasn't good? Why it matters I don't really know, his defensive midfielder Dad has absolutely F all to do with his ability/potential.

He didn't have a chance at Liverpool and left to play football when a contract to stay was offered. He's developed in those 2 seasons of actually playing football.

Henry and Viera were rejects when Wenger bought them. If he was late twenties I'd get your point but he's just starting his career and no body knows yet how good he might be.

Also to correct you he was outstanding in the champioship last season not 'half decent'.

Read the thread Sparkey, I know they are a so called big club and all that, but, most of them don't seem to want him back ! The way I see it, the Premiership is changing year on year, as the so called smaller clubs (without massive debt) such as WBA and our west walian neighbours, they can build from a very safe platform, sooner or later one of the big fish will be relegated, and I am old enough to remember Tommy Docherty Man U team in division 2, Villa nearly went last year, and the reason for that was finance, Liverpool or Everton could be next to struggle, who knows, but I am sure that we will surprise a few people next year, with players that the BIG CLUBS deem not good enough for them.
