Come down to Fratton Park tomorrow for 2pm and let Pompey Ladies show you how it's* done! Tickets cost £5 for adults and £1 for concessions, also you can buy hospitality tickets for £20 which includes a 3 course meal! Nom nom. kick off is at 2pm! * It being not lose terribly
I doubt there's been a mass exodus from the city to Hartlepool today, so it sounds like a good bit of Sunday entertainment for those of you who live on the island
It's their first league game on the hallowed turf isn't it? I do like the way the community club is taking them seriously at long last. Good Luck Pompey Ladies
Pompey Ladies lost 2-1, and had an apparently excellent goal disallowed for offside. Tiffany Taylor’s goal sparked hopes of a comeback after Tottenham had roared into a 2-0 interval lead. But Charley Wilson had an effort controversially ruled out for offside to deny the hosts a share of their spoils. A very respectable crowd of 673 watched the game.
The atmosphere was amazing, the chimes of Play Up Pompey rang throughout Fratton Park, as well as chants of Blue Army and for only 673 (I say only, but that smashed our previous attendance record) it as so loud! I wish all our games were like that. As for Charley Wilson's super-skilful volley, she was so blatently onside. Just the ref seemed to forget that you can't be offside from a backwards pass Tottenham weren't amazing. The first goal was a powerful long distance shot from a corner that left the keeper with no chance (think Mendes but less impressive). The second was a poor back-pass from a Pompey defender, Spurs shot, Sadie made the save but they scored from the rebound. It just took us a while to get going but the second half it was complete dominance by Pompey. I think Spurs had about two or three shots in the entire second half.
I was not able to make this one, we really wanted to go but other family commitments took over..........will they play at FP again? If so, count me and the sprogs in
I sincerely hope so. After the success of yesterday's fixture, I reckon Pompey Ladies will hopefully have the ammunition to be able to push for this to be a more regular fixture. Maybe they could have the Hampshire Cup final at Fratton Park rather than Privett Park and on a Sunday too rather than a midweek evening! Imagine how much it will mean to the players to win the Hampshire cup at Fratton Park! Although the fixture may be a bit one-sided to be a draw for spectators.
PL, I mistaken pressed my finger on your home page, rather than the thread above it, and I feel like I have been chromatically assaulted. There ought to be a law against screens like that. If you are going to continue to have such a diabolical arrangement, then I am afraid that I am going to have to insist that you make all future postings in green crayon.....assuming that you don't already?
