All these false rumours are really psising me off big time. Am beginning to think we will sign people nobody has neard of, as per usual, and claim they are bargains. And having seen the start of our season we may be in deep shtie again very quickly.. Fcuking sick of it!!

Ignore everything except the the Journo's who are close to the club, oh wait, hang on. <laugh>

If the story doesn't come from Chris Young I don't get excited until It's got real legs.

Far too early to be getting irate about lack of signings. Firstly, the first we ever hear regarding incoming transfers is when the deal is all but done, it's the one good thing about the club.

Secondly, other than Depay no other club has made a big cash signing. No need to panic at all at the moment.

Didn't Juanmi go to Southampton, and didn't Swansea sign Ayew and tie up Gomis? I think Everton are very close to signing Deulofeu from Barca, aren't they? I'd have been doing a jig at all four of those. We still haven't got a fcking assistant manager/coach or the requisite number of first team coaches!!!! In fact, we have NO coaches bar Woodman.

If £25M is true then we need to stop looking at strikers and find 3 defenders and creative midfielders/wingers!

Since when is a player signing a new contract a new signing? That's exactly the kind of thing you'd try to slate the club for if they tried to spin it that way.

As for Juanmi and Ayew I don't know much about either but if not getting them means we can get Austin, Deeney or Berahino then I'm happy to have missed out on those two.

£25 million isn't a warchest. It's like when you were a kid and scraped together 30p to buy some sweets from the corner shop. It's the Daily Fail, so is probably bollocks, but nothing would surprise me.

Think both teams need at least 40m to drag themselves up to being a mid table club. Either that or both teams are very lucky with injuries but with game changers like De Jong and Giacc in the squads who are very prone we'd need a lot of luck.

25m ?! Youve gotta be ****ting me. Thats two decent players because we include wages in there. McClaren better be a hell of a coach. He's in for a rude awakening when cisse is sold and our number 1 striker gets the yips whenever hes in a goal scoring position.

Papers started out saying A$hley warchest was £50m. Then it went down to £40m now it's down to £25m. Forget all about De Bost, Austin etc and we'll once again have a number of freebies, low cost nobodies. Those season tickets will remain unsold.

If this proves anything at all it's that the papers (like us) know nothing about how much money we have or who our targets are.

We (and pretty much every club) have these rumours every summer. The only reason things are different this year is because Ashley made a little speech about wanting to win stuff and to provide backing to fulfil that ambition.
No point getting worked up about falsified rumours, the journos have to get paid somehow. As per usual, take them all with a pinch of salt until there's a picture of a player with a shirt.

Yep, barely any activity this time of the year. Not a problem, we don't really need defenders after all.

I wouldn't lose interest. It's frustrating that there is no movement, but the fans have the right idea now, don't buy a season ticket until we see some concrete actions to back up the, frankly laughable, words. Our standing in world football is thus:

    Top 4
    -------
    Willing to spend mid-table
    --------
London clubs not in either of those brackets
    -------
    Us and the other crap
    --------
    Championship clubs

It's going to be difficult getting players over the line early because if we're interested in a player, the agent will want to see if a better prospect club in our league is interested. We won't walk in and sign a player on the spot.

I expect signings, but they'll be underwhelming.
