Alternatively, who should take them? I would go with Forster, Big Maj, Wilson, Brown and Ledley. They couldn't do any worse than the so-called strikers and attacking midfielders.

Kayal is very important. If Sion tries to play through midfield Brown Ki Ledley and Commons are not a tight close knit midfield. Put Kayal in the middle and Ledley towards the left. I would start with Stokes and Hooper, leaving Commons out.
