Wasn't even a tackle really. Debuchy was just tracking back and the striker decided to throw himself to the ground.
Would have preferred the win but we still top the group and its a run out for the fringe and youth. Thought we were comfortably the better side today but just couldn't find a cutting edge.
Yep the final ball was lacking, but we pretty much dominated the game. Very unlucky not to come away from that game with anything and to lose it to a nothing pen. Still, if that's our bad luck out of the way. I'd rather it was done and dusted in a game that didn't matter.
We got a bit unlucky with the two Coquelin chances, the one that hit the post and the one that went just wide. They got extremely lucky with the pen. That was as soft as they come. But yes, our final ball and finishing was well below par. We dominated the game without ever really looking that threatening
Something I was meaning to post on Thursday.. Why the **** did Wenger play Debuchy as a CB and Chambers as a WB in the same team??
Buggered if I know. A few options: 1. Perhaps he thought that Debuchy would be such a nightmare at WB that even though Chambers is a substantial upgrade at CB, it wouldn't make up for him? 2. I suppose at CB, Debuchy can only screw up the defense, whereas at WB he could destroy the defense, midfield and attack? 3. The game wasn't likely to be important, so he decided to let them decide, and they chose poorly? 4. They had a vote on the team and the team voted to put Debuchy at the back, close to where Per could kick him every five minutes to keep him motivated? 5. Debuchy has a clause in a contract which makes it impossible to play him in a position where he has to break into a run?
