Hate to be negative but I got bad feeling we will lose this one especially if we play like we did last Saturday. 2-1 win for Halifax
Aint it typicl I'm only 20 miles from allifax at the moment but I'm not ****ing staying up here for the weekend.
Apparently Rovers needed to beat Halifax way back in 1963 to avoid relegation. They won 3-2. (the fan's report in the Evil Post) Some time later, I was born. I think the lads will grind out a win. But it won't be easy and we'll need a bit of luck. 1-0 to The Gas.
With new signing Chris Lines, Ollie Clarke back and hopefully Easter fit to play and the team wanting to put right last weeks performance im going for GAS victory 2-0

I'd like to think that our defence would be a little more 'compus' than they were last Saturday but potency up front still worries me a little so I am going to go for a dodgy little nil niller !
The Rovers boss looks ahead to this weekend's fixture Rovers long unbeaten run came to an end last week losing 1-2 to Eastleigh but Darrell is confident his team can bounce straight back to winning ways at Halifax. "Saturday was one of those games where 6/7 of our players weren't at the standards they set for themselves and we didn't play well on the day and you have to give Eastleigh credit. "If you look at the games all the way through the season they are all going to be difficult to get three points and you just have to look at how many cup shocks there are each season because imagine a so called 'lesser team' comes to the Memorial Stadium they are going to raise their game like it is a cup tie and that is why teams like Luton took six years. "We've had to put up with that all season and will have to until this season is over for the remaining eight games we need to make sure we can rise above it and win football matches. "We haven't been brilliant at times this season, but we have won ugly which is pleasing and we need to approach these last games the best way we can. "We don't fear any team that we come up against and if my lads are working hard for each other as they have all season we are a force for anyone to play against. Halifax have currently played three games less that Rovers due to postponements because of pitch issues at the Shea Stadium and Darrell says his side will just get on with it. "Halifax are in the situation where they have rugby playing on their pitch as well but we certainly won't be using the state of their pitch as an excuse and we will just do the job we have to do. "They've slipped away a little bit in recent weeks and they have been playing a lot of games and being an ex league club the expectation there is big as well. "They will be wanting to get back into the league and will want to beat us this weekend so it will be another tough game. Rovers signed former midfielder Chris Lines on loan from League One Port Vale earlier this week and Darrell is really pleased that he has joined the squad for the last vital push. "I got a call about him last week because he is desperate to get back to Bristol because he has family here and being able to pick up a player of his calibre who knows the club and understands what the club is all about is a great addition to the squad. "He is on loan until the end of the season and if he wants to stay at Bristol Rovers then he is going to have to produce on the pitch the same as all my other players. "We are really delighted to bring Chris in and he is focused on what we are trying to achieve here. "With Chris joining us and Jermaine back in full training it gives us players who have played in big games and that will be key for us coming into the business end of the season. "For me, teams need that experience and that know-how because you are never sure how players are going to handle the pressures and we have got players in our team that have won promotions before and know what it is all about and we've got 8 cup finals to go. Big day tomorrow! Halifax v Rovers (7th v 1st) Eastleigh v Barnet (2nd v 6th) Gateshead v Macclesfield (9th v 3rd) Chester v Grimsby (11th v 4th) FGR v Braintree (5th v 17th) Can any of you predicted the results????
All you need to know about Saturday's opponents Bristol Rovers face Halifax Town at the Shay Stadium as they look to remain top of the Vanarama Conference. Rovers: Darrell Clarke's men will be looking to put last weeks defeat behind them and get back to winning ways going into the business end of the season. Team News: Stuart Sinclair will be the only long term absentee following his injury two weeks ago at Gateshead but loan signing Chris Lines is available for selection. Darrell's View: "Halifax are in the situation where they have rugby playing on their pitch as well but we certainly won't be using the state of their pitch as an excuse and we will just do the job we have to do. "They've slipped away a little bit in recent weeks and they have been playing a lot of games and being an ex league club the expectation there is big as well. "They will be wanting to get back into the league and will want to beat us this weekend so it will be another tough game. Opposition: Tomorrow's opponents Halifax Town sit just outside the Playoff places having gathered 57 points from their 35 games. The Shayman's form has been stuttering of late gathering three draws in their last four games, with the other fixture being a 1-0 loss away at Southport. Town had a fixture Tuesday night where they drew with Aldershot and Richard Peniket scored the clubs first goal in over five hours of football. Dangerman - Scott Boden: The former Macclesfield and Alfreton man has been the Shaymen's most constant attacking force this season and has found the back of the net on 10 occasions. However, Boden's form has been stuttering like his clubs and hasn't scored in his last three appearances but it was Boden who scored Halifax's goal back at the Mem in August. Last Time Out: Ellis Harrison secured all three points for Darrell Clarke's men in a 2-1 win at the Memorial Stadium back in August which brought the end to Halifax's winning start to the season. Well CJS if you are on here tomorrow I will be joining you sometime in the first half definitely by the second half as my work start and finish times have changed on a Saturday
If you are right, the table would look like this... P.. Team..... Pl.... Pts 1 Rovers..... 39... 74 2 Maccs...... 38... 74 (would go top if won by 5 goals) 3 Barnet..... 38... 72 4 Grimsby.. 38... 71 5 FGR......... 39... 68 6 Eastleigh.. 37... 64 7 Halifax..... 36... 58 Then if Maccs, Barnet and Grimsby win their game in hand on us, we would drop to 4th on goal difference. If Eastleigh win their games in hand they would go 5th (final play off place) just 4 points behind us. With 7 games to go. Man this I hope you are wrong with your predictions!!
We need to win 6 of our last 8 to sure of a play off place if other teams win their games and games in hand, but points on the board are always better than games in hand as they have to win those games and we already have the points on the board. In DC I trust and league 2 beckons next season
Doesn't look as if Dawson will get much joy down the flanks! Log balls down the middle could be the way to go...
