As I'm originally from Barry I was wondering what everyones take is on the FAW refusing Barry & Llanelli entry to the Welsh footbal league.

Draconian springs to mind. They should be helping Welsh teams not putting up obstacles. The LOW clubs don't appear to be making much progress in general, they never get anywhere in European competitions and I wonder sometimes what the FAW are doing about it.
It would be unfair on existing clubs if these new clubs are placed in a higher division.
I think that any team in the football league system who enter administration should be relegated two divisions as a result. then clubs would be encouraged to pay their debts instead of taking the easy way out.

I believe the intent was to punish them roughly as hampshire had indicated i.e. drop them a couple of divisions.....however there was such an outcry from other member clubs they were forced into this decision.
Could be good news for teams in the league below as they will get an opportunity to play in the WPL. Never a good way to go out though it's difficult to find the money to remain in that league.
I can only add that Llanelli (The Reds) are a complete mess at the moment with the possibility of losing their ground very soon.
Dunno about Barry but I think The Reds should rebuild gradually as there is a new ownership / committee etc and probably a whole new squad of unpaid locals

to be honest i am a bit disappointed that both swansea and cardiff did not give these two high profile welsh teams some help. What they owed was little money to us ( well llanelli anyway i dont know the figures that Barry are in debt with)..We could quite easily loaned them an interest free sum to give them a leg up.......the WFA are a bunch of twats anyway and should have helped the two biggest and best supported clubs we have and not dismiss them to playing pub football......what is the point of that...
Arw and Dai , whilst I agree with you both on the help side of things , we must all think of WHO will profit from these friendlies , a lot of clubs have owners or sponsors who are in it not for the love of the clubs but maybe , just maybe to make a few bob for themselves
Llanelli were the first team I watched, never paid to go in , always over the wall from the Evans Terrace corner ( I probably started their slide) and I want them to survive ,but then I know some of the local tossers who have come in with a plan and never backed their own ideas with hard cash.....
I personally know a few of the bidders or maybe at this point owners and they are not to blame , ....but the damage has been done and now they should maybe build from the start
Ok there will have to be certain stipulations to the loan that it dont go to any individual but to the club so that wont be a problem.....Its sad that these two clubs and of course not forgetting neath have been the so called better clubs and if they can go down the pan then what chance has the others got.....I blame the WFA and their incompetence of being able to run welsh football from start to finish as they never accept any blame for anything and i think they are the main cause of the LOW being in such a mess.
