Besides, there is only one Le God, and much as I love Rickie, it isn't him. He's carving his own unique legendary status.
As to my favourite other than Rickie, it's almost certainly James Beattie, for his all-round commitment to the cause. For goal poaching class it has to be Kevin Phillips. Marian would have got in there but he was already getting regularly injured by then and he only came back for cameos really.
Trying to think in the last ten years of the strikers we have had.......Brett Ormerod, Kenwyn Jones, Ricardo Fuller, Peter Crouch, Kevin Phillips, Beattie, Pahars, Rasiak, B wright-phillips, McGoldrick, Best, Blackstock. Plus the current crop.....Lambert, Sharp, Lee, Connolly, Barnard.....probably missing heaps
Peter Crouch was and is still a very good player. I could never understand why Happy Harry regularly refused to play him and Philips up front together. When he did play Philips it was mostly in midfield if I'm remembering it correctly. All part of my conspiracy theory
Yes me too for crouch........it was a pity he had to go, but I think he still does quite well. Excellent record for blighty.....
If its favourite and not 'best' then I would have to go for Pahars everytime. I liked Crouch, but his goals for england only really seemed to me to be against the lesser teams. Not sure he was good enough at the highest level
I don't like Crouch so he can't get my vote. I think mine will be Beattie. I rememeber his hattrick against Fulham at home, B-e-a-utiful.
