I started my yearly re-run of The Office last night (UK version obviously, the US version is about as funny as famine) and I completely forgot how ****ing hilarious it is. Anything from Big Bang theory, Friends, The IT crowd, Miranda, Mrs Browns Boys is banned from this thread - There is a lot more on the list, but I’m struggling to think.
Funny you mention The Office (utter genius), as last night I watched David Brent: Life on the Road, on Netflix. It's not up to TO's level, but the lyrics of Forgone Conclusion's songs are ball-achingly funny, and Brent is always worth a revisit.
Love the Office. English humour at its best. 1. The scene where Brent sacks Dawn for “thieving” 2. His blind date in the pub with the plain MILF - Brent’s reaction when he first sees her “oh for f*cks sake”
Auf Weidersehen Pet. Oz talking to Neville about Moxey. "Moxey's alright man but he thinks every day is Guy Fawkes".
The scene where Kryten introduces the crew of the Nova 5 to Rimmer & co. is the funniest they ever did in any series, though Lister's 'Bulgaria' revelation in the episode Backwards is a great moment as well. The very first episode of The Black Adder also has a couple of terrific moments. Peter Cook as Richard III; "A horse, a horse...my Kingdom for a horse... Ah, horsie!" And Edmund's manic attempts to revive him after chopping his head off. Edmund's reaction when he thinks Henry Tudor's army is about to invade the castle; Edmund - "My God, they're here already! Run for your lives, run for the hills!" Baldrick - "Er, My Lord, they're coming from the hills." Edmund - "Oh, sorry... Run away from the hills, run away from the hills! If you see the hills, run the other way!" Of all the episodes that followed over the years (some of which were very good) that first one is still my favourite.
