Probably already been mentioned over the past 4 pages but awesome as it may be, Father Ted isn't British and why isn't Only Fools and Horses on your list?
Reeves and Mortimer for me.

Only Fools and Horses wasn't even in Jo Brand's top 5 comedies of the 80's. Whoever put this poll obviously has the same opinion of it. Still funny after watching it 10 million times.
Inbetweeners is great, as is Only Fools & Horses. Friends is up there as well!

For the My Lovely Horse episode if nothing else. "I want to shower you with sugar lumps" Haha
Ive already said ive left the obvious ones out if people would read.

Gaaaaawd
Could that show, like, BE any more American?
<EDIT> Wow! Inbetweeners is steamrollering this poll, shows the average age of this forum!![]()
Monkey Dust was mint!!
Also anyone remember stressed Eric?? Late nineties cartoon?? Got find memories of watching that!! Voted for father Ted as it's the best ever imo!!
Peep Show and Not Going Out would probably be my favourite 'newer' British comedies.

.Normally a thread like this wouldn't get as many replies, you can tell its international week! I'm reluctant to clog up our board with more pointless articles (take heed Tash) so thought I'd just post this here - who are everyones favourite comedy characters of all time? There was a poll recently and Homer was #1, hard to argue with really but I think my vote would be for Arnold Rimmer, with Oz Ozborne, Del Boy, Barney Stinson and Alan Partridge close behind!
Rick from the Young Ones, Brian Potter and Alan Partridge.
