Faurlin agrees new QPR deal Jun 27, 2014 14:06 By Paul Warburton Fan favourite to put pen to paper on contract extension next week. Alejandro Faurlin has agreed a new one-year deal at QPR - and is set to sign on the dotted line next Tuesday. Boss Harry Redknapp made good his promise on keeping the Argentine midfielder after first voicing reservations the 27-year-old would recover from a second cruciate leg injury sustained last November that kept him out for the rest of the season. However, the manager is only too aware how high the esteem of the clubâs longest serving player and will add Faurlin to a roster that already includes defender Clint Hill, who has also agreed to stay an extra term. Faurlin is already back training in England alongside another long-term injury Matt Phillips, with both expected to meet up with the rest of the squad at the start of pre-season training the week after next. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/faurlin-agrees-new-qpr-deal-7337444?
Great news for Ale after his injuries. I hope he gets a bit of luck and he finally shows the world that he can be a Premiership player.
I know we would all love to see Ale doing well in the PL. Good signing and sort of feels like a new one.
Really hope he makes it and his body holds up. Think it will be very tough for him, and take a while to get his strength and speed up to the level needed in the PL.
Hope this works out for Ale and the team. I think Harry had just about worked out that him and Joey were the best midfield pairing we had before he got injured. I don't think he ever really worked out who should replace him! I hope he gets the chance to claim his place in the team and bring a bit of calmness and passing ability to our midfield!
Delighted to have some positive, definite and non WC related news to read about. I can't recall a WC that has been as uninteresting as this for an England fan. Club over country this time around without any hesitation. COYRss!!
Looking forward to seeing him back on the pitch, sensible to give a year as we don't know he will come back as before but still gives him the chance he deserves.
It sends out the right message extending his contract-this is a good move. Regrettably I don't think he'll ever reach his peak again though, but I'd love to be proved wrong.
Last time, it did take a full season for him to get back to his best. I am hoping that if things don't go well for him initially both the fans and management remember this and give him as much time as he needs. This isn't being sentimental, as a fully fit and sharp Faurlin will be a good investment for the club even if we have to wait a further season to see him peak again.
Brilliant news - he certainly deserves it. Hope he can recover fully this time, and get back to somewhere near his best.
Good news and good luck to the lad. Good that the club has only considered a 12-month contract, though; very sensible.
Agree with this badger. What is good to read as well is that Ale & Matt are already training. Look forward to seeing you in the hoops again Ale. Possibly the best signing we will make this summer!
I hope its a sensible deal for both parties. I'm happy as he's well liked by everyone, I just hope his knees hold out!
