According to King Fut: @King_Fut: "Fathi, Gedo and Abou-Treika are all staying with us next season,â Ahly football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz. #HCAFC
If Bruce wants him, we'll get him, regardless of what anyone at ahly says. When they came in the first place they seemed to be saying one thing, then another. I'd take anything they come out with with a pinch of salt anyway.
I'd imagine Bruce has decided they're not up to Premier League level to be honest, cos as you say I think if we wanted them, we would get them cos they'd want to come.
He can say what he likes, Gedo has made it clear he wants to stay so if we want him (which I think we will) there won't be a problem
I should imagine that this is more about Bruce saying "no thanks", rather than Al Ahly saying "no way". Gedo did a good job, but if we have money to spend, i'd probably rather try somebody else.
Not sure I'd be too bothered if both or either went back, Gedo had a great start but didn't really deliver later in the season (possible fitness issues I know), Fathi never really got a chance so we have no idea if he could cut it in the PL. As long as we have suitable replacements in mind then it's not the greatest loss. Having said that I'm sure both could make a decent contribution next season if we decided to keep them, like others have said if Bruce wants them he'll get them.
Oh aye, totally agree with that but surely it's different when the deals will be perm and the manager would have a say. I'd effin' hope so anyway.
Interesting how different people interpret things. When I first read the tweet I took it to mean that we had told Al Ahly that we would not be needing them on any basis next season rather than Al Ahly were dictating anything.
