Apparantly in advanced talks with St Etienne, according to The Journal interview with SB. Last yr of his contract, so we may get a small fee, and it'll also cut wages.
Sad to see him go, great on the ball, but couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo......Thanks for the memories Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed

I'll miss his scowling face running his little Belgian bollocks off for us.
One of the best players to watch.

One of the greatest players to watch, if a few years younger and wasnt smoking I think his dribbling would of been better than the messi's and ronaldo's of this world

Unfortunately his record for us wasnt brilliant but he always made space and made good passes

Surely this would point towards someone coming in to play on the left wing?

To my mind we would be better paying him to coach the academy players for a year on how to control a ball then let him leave on a free.

That interview also says Angeleri and Mccartney will (should be) on their way out as well.

Just need Killa and Noz to be cut lose and the wages bill should be decreased by quite a bit.

Best of luck to the fella, probably my favourite Sunderland player since watching them since the 94 season I believe and that's high praise considering Phillips joined the same season I bought my first season ticket...

Heart of a lion, skills of an Argentinian midget, perfected the sliding tackle better than Franz Beckanbeur but had the lungs of a 90 year chain smoker and the shooting ability of an American sniper unfortunately.

    Class player.

    Cheers for the memories Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.

Thanks mate looking good for us IMO

If we can get rid of them 3 as Bruce hopes in the next few days I wouldn't be suprised if a left winger comes in before the Toon game at the latest, we need one asap!

Echo all above, a wonderful player who i've enjoyed watching, and good timing for him to leave.

St Etienne is a great club as well, i think the most successful in French history, delighted he ain't falling through the leagues or something, as he simply doesn't deserve that.

    STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!
