Ah, now thats sad news.....a nice guy. I last saw him at the Ninian Park closing down day, he was surrounded by fans who obviously thought a lot of the guy. Notice a lot of people passing recently football wise. Sad to see the Liverno player today. God bless them both!
 
Really sad news Glam.
Everyone will have a tale to tell about Eddie. I remember when I was living in Cogan, he turned up at the Rec to watch City's youth team take on Cogan Coronation. My 14 year old daughter (already committed to the Bluebird cause) was with me watching the game, and Eddie picked up on her excitement at the appearance of the big man. He walked over and asked what the score was and offered us both a polo mint and shared his umbrella with us. My daughter still talks about it to this day, and Eddie remained her footballing hero. He clearly loved people who loved the game, and I remember how he talked with a smile on his face.
A gentleman, a Cardiff City hero and now sadly, a loss to this world.
RIP Eddie - we'll miss you
 
I am genuinely saddened by this news. Top manager and a truly great person.
He loved our club and gave us some great memories. That final away game at Scunthorpe in '93 will never be forgotten.
7000+ Bluebirds made the trip and Eddie brought us back as Champions.

It's news that is hard to sink in, it's been a awful year for Bluebird fans.

Eddie May a more genuine man you could not hope to meet.

Remember that away day at scunny too was possibly the best away day as a bluebird ever , was very lucky to have met Eddie on a couple of occasions and he was one of the warmest nicest people I have ever met in football , R.I.P Eddie condolences to his family .
 
Always had time for Eddie as he always had time for the fans. Larger than life character who seemed to enjoy the job. A lot of his contemporaries and many since just appear to want success and the trappings that go with it.

There weren't many around like him and I doubt we'll see many more. Football has become a commercial rat race.

Anyway, RIP Eddie - one of the good guys.
 
gutted 2hear this news,some of my best days were when he was incharge.......he will be sadly missed by about 5000thousand cardiff fans who went 2 tha games in them days.

I will back up a number of the post already made, but it was during Eddie's reign that our support started to rise, he had a good team and he was a great guy, Away day at Scunny is clearer in my mind now than either of the recent Wembley outings and also the ECWC trip with the supporters club when we played Baumit Admira Wacker of Vienna. Very sad loss RIP Eddie.
 
Too many good people leaving us too soon. Would be nice if the boys could raise their game and atribute a big win to Eddies memory tomorrow. <rose>
