If you are trying to sell your house and overvalue it so nobody makes an offer then you either (a) you take it off the market or (b) you reduce the asking price.... if a group of Aussies view it and make an acceptable of subject to them being able to get a mortgage then what do you do?... you wait for them to fulfil their promise don't you?.... The Aussies have extended the sale process (and by definition the Belgian's ownership!) because they have made promises that their wallets can not keep and so plunging our Club into further misery.... why don't they just feck off back to Aussie Land and force the Belgian to find a proper buyer.
And let’s no longer buy this load of old bollox that Muir & Co are “sports mad” Aussies with a passion for self publicity...sorry.... Charlton. It cynically leaked out the day before the season started that they had tasked an Everton employee with finding them some financial backing. Disgraceful.
and after his January statement (which turned out to be total b0lloks) exactly what has the Club Doyen Muzza done ?? The man has kept very silent hasn't he?
Increasingly reminds me of Mugabe, holed up in his Presidential palace at all costs, loathed outside.
Quote from Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce last night - “The new owners have taken control within a week. You can’t even buy a house that quickly” Lucky for Villa they weren’t Australian ...
From Angeldust, Duchatelet now actively looking for executive staff to run the business. As I said some weeks ago, Australian consortium have failed in their attempt to broker a deal for the club. I am really pissed off that RD is still in charge. But I am not unhappy that the Australian Consortium is not taking us over. We need change but the right sort of change and the Aussies are not it.
Thank God for the British consortium who are negotiating with Roland. Shouldn't be any problem for them now that the path is clear
I am not at all sure that the EFL would approve the head of the 'British Consortium' as being a fit and proper person to own a football club
I hope this is not true as this would be a clear sign that we have him for a longer term than on a month to month basis. Sad and worrrying times.
Transfer deadline day tomorrow. Unsurprisingly, we are being linked with no outfield players & Villa’s 4th choice 19 yr old keeper on loan. The remaining craven Apologists like Colin & Jonkool will claim if Aribo stays tomorrow it’s a sign of Duchatelet’s ambition.
People like that deserve to follow a team in the Conference. I believe notsojonkool believes the s*** he posts. Bexley is Bexley.
Good piece by Dave Smith over on CL. To summerise, in the game of who blinks first, no one blinked. RD therefore gets to keep a club he doesn't want and maintain it. It has no real assets that he can dismember, most of the decent players having gone, and those remaining have contracts that expire next year, but the price has been to high, so most potential buyers have walked away. They can, they have no emotional attachment, and the losses accumulating won't be a worry unless they agree in writing to take them on, or pay off RD's share. Dave Smith speculated that at some point the penny will drop and RD may now have to face the grim reality that other people aren't going to take responsibility for the mess he has made. I see little sign of that sort of honest self appraisal in RD. But if he cannot find a buyer, his penny pinching is literally just that - turning out the lights won't be a drop in the ocean next to the weekly wages of some of our players, and I doubt we are so far out of step with other tier three clubs our size. This takeover seems dead by all accounts. We are now stuck with austerity. But the owner won't make any real savings until he realices he needs to take a big haircut on this one. If he deludedly hangs around waiting for someone to meet his current asking price, we could be talking something along the lines of Telly Savalas.
The interesting thing about Dave is that he is one of the few in a position to actually know. He is also not one of the In Crowd over there ie he is a rich and successful businessman in his own right, not a seller of fanzines.
Thank goodness for the ex-directors who turned down the 10 pieces of silver. It means he can't do further damage apart from running the club down and out of the EFL, does it not? It would clarify things a bit if Murphy would make his withdrawal official. We might see some decent protests then. All Roland's grand plans to make us a Cat. 1 Academy are just a huge white elephant now, a dead parrot even, a black hole, to mix a few metaphors. And remember KR trying to tell us that the Lookman money was going to ensure the Academy project would go ahead?
