http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...sted-duo-to-replace-henning-berg-8432248.html Dear me, poor ol' Blackburn eh? DTLW
This could have been us if Marcus and NC hadn't rescued the club. We had some very dodgy manager decisions.
I don't - they are at least partly responsible for the **** up, Kean was doing OK in the Championship but the constant wave of fury against him meant he had to leave in the end. Both the Venky's and the fans are to blame for this.
Do feel a little bit of sympathy for Rovers fans, but let me put it this way, not as much as I do fans of lower league clubs who have been ****ed around by mental owners (such as Chester & Wrexham). At least Rovers fans have seen years of successful football in the Prem. They've had their "smooth" now its time for their "rough" However, on a wider note, the fact that some Indian chicken farmers don't know how to run a football club, shouldn't really be a shock to anyone. What the FA & FL should never have allowed is for Venkys to pretty much hand over the running of the club to a football agent. A massive conflict of duties and leaves the door open for all sorts of dodgy goings on (like Kean being handed a long contract etc). But then, as usual, the FA just sit back and let the **** hit the fan instead of stepping in earlier when its clear to anyone with any brains that the "owners" are not fit to run a club.
To Blackburn fans he was just the owner's puppet. Plus he had some real dodgy agents hanging onto him who basically orchestrated all of this for a tidy fee, didn't seem like a very nice guy, and well he was a crap manager too. He had to go, earlier than he did. Meanwhile attendances have halved, no serious manager will take it, money is bleeding from the club, Venky's will never sell, no one will ever buy, and there's no one at the club who has a clue. If I was a Blackburn fan, I think I'd probably find a new hobby for a bit.
I think I read over the holiday that Berg had 57 days in charge. I can't understand why he was dismissed although it might have been something fundementally wrong that made his continued employment untenable. On the face of it, this seems like an extremely poor decision and makes you wonder that if Berg was so bad, why was be appointed in the first place. The same decision with O'Driscoll at Forest is equally baffling. I can't help wondering if Rovers are on a similar projectory as Portsmouth. Further proof, as if it was needed, that the regulations regarding the ownerhsip of football clubs needs to be more carefully regulated.
Good ol' Portsmouth, trend setters we are. Now everyone seemingly wants to follow us! Blackburn, QPR, etc
Blackburn are in the unfortunate situation where things will have to get a lot worse before they get better. No sensible businessman would buy the club until it is available for a reasonable fee and Venky's won't sell until they've run the club in to the ground (or at least League One).
