Seems that Pete Doherty was back on form for an impromptu appearance with the Libertines as part of the Barclaycard British Summer Time gig at Hyde Park yesterday evening.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/28182795

"Doherty also used one of very few interactions with the audience to pay tribute to football club Queens Park Rangers, Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr and Gerry Conlon."

I didn't bump into him at Wembley, but I bet he was there!

I've seen him a few times in Glasgow and he always seems to have some form of QPR memorabilia in his stage backdrop. He has also namedropped the club in at least one of his songs!

Is Pete Doherty being a QPR fan something we should publicize?

Absolutely, he epitomises us. Massive talent, lost his way, doesn't learn from mistakes, can't stop himself coming back for more, no career plan, lives for the moment. And with the exception of Michael Nyman and the alleged members of the Clash who support us (not sure I've ever believed this, despite their geopgraphical proximity) no celeb QPR fans have produced anything as good as this:

And it is fair to say he has produced stuff better than that as well.

I stand corrected. May have got confused with the Pistols, who aren't R's fans.

Agree, but having Doherty as a supporter is nothing to be ashamed of.

Have to correct you again there, Stan. I found myself sat next to Glen Matlock at one game last year and he is very much an Rs fan.

I clearly know nothing. Cook and Jones used to break in to watch but I know Cook is a Chelsea fan (his Dad Tommy used to work with my Dad), Jones not so sure. Lydon a Gooner as is well documented.

Typing on a tablet with a stylus not easy here at work. I'll get my son to check it next time.

Pete managed to get Kate Moss to appear on the inside cover of The Libertines album wearing just a superhoops home top. Wins my vote!

I'm a big fan. So what, he has a drugs problem, lots of people have. He is a loyal QPR supporter who promotes us all the time. Check out the lyrics to 'A Broken Love Song' for a good insight into how he feels.
