Don't believe it ! Deja Vu!! Against Burnleh, saw Quinniesta get straight armed by Wallace, jumped up yelled profanity, sat down embarrased that only I saw anything wrong! Last night, Quinniesta, on the halfway line, jumps to head the ball, just as he does so a Palarse player (think it was Dickjoy or Ballnasty) comes flying in with a Kung Fu kick from the side and takes Quinny out after the ball had gone. Up goes Strovolos again, yelling expletives again, and again nobody utters a word!!! Sat down, red faced again! I'm starting to think I'm the only one not blind in the South stand!!
I'm a Southstander!!! I'm also an ex-Bunkerser, ex-UnderHSBClocker, ex-BPEstander (until I couldn't stand the stink of p1ss any longer) , ex-BestStandWeller and (for that Watney Cup game) ex-BestStandSeatser!!!
Haha Strov,it sounds like you sit among a load of ball watchers. Again i know exactly the incident of which you post. The refs seem to just carry on as if nothing untoward occured at all. Maybe they just think, well he's a ginner, that's what ginners are for. In fact even Quiniesta seems to just shrug and carry on,maybe as a ginner he's used to it. Can you imagine the fuss if it was Zahahaha that got the Bruce Lee treatment ? The thing want i to point out about Quinn though is,well he's ****ing brilliant is'nt he ? How the hell did we get him so damned cheap ?
The East stand was only known as "The Kempton" toward the latter part of Boothferry Park's history, probably from when the "kop" moved there. In my time it was simply known as the East Stand.
We were lucky with Quinn because the Blunts couldn't afford to offer him a new contract because of the wages he had become accustomed to, and nobody else came in for him. As for his attitude, he's Irish (tough) and I think he has 12 siblings, so will be used to receiving knocks and fighting for what he wants!!!. Again, last night, we complained about nothing, in marked contrast to Palarse who moaned about everything. The penalty stat on another thread (we are the only club in the Championship yet to be awarded one) and out position as the cleanest club, is no coincidence: we are too nice!! Morally commendable, but it will cost us in the end!
Every man and his dog, have their opinions on the state of football today, whether fans of the game or not. These opinions usually centre around players wages, the £50,000,000 Abramovitch payed for Torres ect... Football itself,is a dirty word these days, and i can't argue with anyone who feels that way, because it's the truth. Just one thing though. When a player like our Quinniesta turns up and makes every effort he can,to earn that criminal wage he earns, nobody notices. Who gives a **** about the fair play league ? Double standards...
That extends beyond football though, life in general the majority of the time it'll be the devious little two faced ****s are the ones that will get success, whilst the nice folk get shafted by them.
In an ideal world I want my football club to play fair, by the rules and not seek to con the referee. But after years of seeing "Money" ruin our National Game and NOBODY give a rats arse about what really matters, I now just don't want us to be every other club's bitch!
Ere Ric,i don't suppose,as a mod you have the power to change my user name back to Kempton Klutz ? what happened is,i drank a more fine whiskeys than i should have, and well, look at me,im Cat meat. If you would then. Sorry !
